  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

They will email you, I'm in the same boat. We just need to wait patiently.

I am sure I read somewhere Jim mentioning there will be no back orders from Feb', because of some overhauling of production line or something.

Lets hope! Much past the end of the year if it's not shipped I'd have to forgo it simply to make sure I have a camera to use for work. I'm not saying I believe him or that he's right. It's just simply a fact. I want a RED, I have always, exactly why I ordered it. But much past years end I'll be losing work and put most of my budget into the Scarlet and building around it.
 
I don't think June is right at all. In fact I would be fairly certain it isn't unless the bottleneck is elsewhere for parts.

There have been about 1800 additional orders since Nov3 Announcement above days prior trend.

If they crank one out every 13 minutes that's 200 a week or so. If you assume 1.5 Scarlets per order = 2,700 scarlets / 200 scarlets per week = 13.5 weeks or 3.25 months = "February" for when backorders for this last week of orders will catch up. And it looks like orders are leveling off.

Hey Gavin, great work!
Have you figured out how many PL mounts have been ordered and their projected delivery schedule?
 
What might be the ratio of PL mounts vs Canon Mounts, any idea?

Man don't say that!
We were promised the shipping will start by 17th Nov/1st Dec. Obviously RED knows the orders would be in thousands and I am sure they have prepared for it.

Haha, I'm hoping 2 weeks of shipments worth... and that they're all before me so they are all shipped before Dec 1 and there are less people in line in front of me. ;)

I know I'm praying they're cranking them out right now, and have been since even before the announcement.

I have posted in a few places but will throw it in this thread as well. If you ordered online, you got an order confirmation email. That order confirmation is, well...your order confirmation. We don't need to email you a second order confirmation or call you. If we need to contact you for more info or any reason, we will. If not, we will begin order processing once product has been allocated to your order. If we called everyone to double-confirm, we'd spend all day confirming and not order processing :)

If you ordered on the phone, your rep can give you your SO (sales order) number as a confirmation. No "auto-email" is sent as when you place on RED.com. We always will direct you to RED.com so you can agree to terms and conditions of sale, can see accessory options, get order confirmation email for your records, etc.

And, as Jim has said - and I have said in other threads - we are pretty slammed. People are running on Red Bull fumes.... If you need to contact us, by all means, please do. If you don't NEED to, we do ask that you be patient. Our number one call and number one email is "When will my order ship?". We don't know the exact date/time, trust me. As soon as we have general timeframes on how deliveries are going (remember, we have not started yet), we will be able to give estimations...

Just to check this exact thing, I ordered a cap at 5:13 pm Nov3 and my SO is 50849. Then I eventually ordered my Scarlet X at 8:44 pm Nov 3 and that SO is 51183. If the SO numbers are in sequence that means I'm pretty close to the front of the line, hopefully in the first shipment.

Awesome! 5:13pm is a GREAT data point. So Scarlet actually started at 850. That's probably one of the last orders before Scarlet Orders started rolling in and they shut down the store at 6:00pm.
 
Wow.
This would make my Scarlet order 64th in a row. I know I shouldn't, but I'm starting to visualize 4K Christmas holidays :-)
