I am a recent convert from Arri to Red, and i can't find what i'm looking for elsewhere on Reduser or elsewhere. Seen a lot of conflicting information out there regarding flying a Red on the Ronin MX. A lot of the opionions and grievances are pre-DSMC2 bodies, and mostly related to the extra accessories you need to buy to make it work with a Red camera. My intention is not to further the conflicting information, but to try to develop some sort of definitive answer to whether the MX works well for DSMC2 cameras, assuming that you get the necessary accessories that are recommended? Does anyone have any sort of longer term positive results? I know the Ronin 2 is a whole other level, and less concerned with compring the two of them here, just wanting to keep the conversation on the MX. Thanks!

You can use the Ronin MX just fine with DSMC2 bodies, BUT, you won't be using heavier lenses with that system. That's the rub there.

Agreed, save yourself a lot of headaches and just go with a Movi Pro. Also DJI's customer service is abysmal if you ever need it. Freefly's support is top notch.

I used the mx for about 2 years with the dsmc1 body, you need all the extensions and extras and make the camera as light as possible, the extra batteries to power the red, I used mainly leica r and sigma 18-35 lens. She never let me down and took alot of abuse. Movi = ass pain. Ronin 2 just works, i upgraded to it and it is wonderful. Just big and heavy. I think dsmc1 suits the mx better because you would need the jet pack on dsmc2, the cables stick out too much and thit the back, on dsmc1 they are reset under the back of the body and give more room for the cables.

Cheers
Ian
