  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What post apps can work with M-X footage (Scratch, Baselight, Pablo, etc.)?

Baselight 4.01 (currently in Beta) can work with MX footage, and I believe has the new FLUT options. I'm working on a project now, and it's going OK so far.

any updates this week re. the status of all these post grading/conform apps and their ability to work with new MX footage?

Hey Chris,

SCRATCH v5.1 is in beta with several customers right now and it is going very well.

We also have at least two customers doing MX Stereo projects with dual Rockets. Realtime... very cool stuff.

Best,

Lucas

Dylan you won't need to make DPX file from the RED Raw files the Pablo will bring it in direct and de bayer and re-size on the fly, no problem.

Thanks Darren (and welcome to REDUSER). But I am not sure what system they are doing final color correction on. I am tracking this thread though. Thanks for the input.

Baselight 4.1.4018 is out and supports 4.5k, MX, FLUT etc. It will be on the website in a few days, but if you need it right now, just email Baselight support to get it.

Any updates?
I'm getting #344 back tomorrow and want to advise clients as best I can.
Does the L&T plug in for FCP work?
Cheers,
Harry

Color is becoming a beast with the new-new color-science and the new beta plugin.

I am so far quite... shocked, actually...

RR support in Color and....

RR support in Color and....

.....it probably still won't do real time playback. Or handle more codecs. Or give you proper conform tools. Or play simple dissolves and fades. Or handle long sequences. Or handle speed changes. Or seamlessly import all Final Cut XML's.

Free is very nice, but in the end, you do get what you pay for.

another bump...
The Final Cut plugin for L&T says through build 20.
If I shoot a job for a client who wants to L&T, will I force them into another workflow if I use my upgraded (MX) camera??? I'm happy to use my other camera with an M chip. I don't want to burn the client
There needs to be something in recon about this. The lack of information is frustrating...
Cheers,
Harry
