What are the implications of Z-mount regarding adaptation to LPL?I am +1 here. Whether it's a native mount that we have rigid adapters, like the DSCM3 PL, or a full removable mount.
RF helps with adapted a great deal of lenses. Z-Mount gets us a lot more with more possibilities.
For those who aren't as nerdy on that front. Z-Mount is the shortest flange depth bayonet mount for S35, FF35, and VV. A very interesting difference 4mm makes, but newer Nikon Z, Sony E, L-Mount, and Hasselblad XCD become possible. C-Mount already works within the RF, but it's easier on Z.
And to give a good firm handshake, for the formats typically associated with RF and Z, both Canon and Nikon did a great job on these new mirrorless mounts from a technology standpoint as well as some of the more technical dimensional wiggles when adapting lenses. Specifically the inner diameter of the mount itself.
Cheers.
