Jarred just posted this. Looks pretty sweet! Very Hasslebad-ish.

Modular bottom grip part! Yes sir!
And wooden handle as an option

From Jarred on Facebook
The wood handles should start coming in at the end of March... depending on how those feel likely april/may.

Wow, looks amazing. As expected. I wonder what advantages, if any, the Sidekick will have over the Side Handle. Guess I'll have to have both :)

He said it won't house a REDVOLT because of ergonomics.

The only time I take the current side handle off my Dragon is when I use my Letus Helix and I want a bare bone configuration. For everything else, my side handle is always on the camera. I'm very excited about this new design.

i dont get the whole wood handle and modular grip discussion on facebook, please explain!
is he saying available at the end of march, or april/may, dont get that either.

wondring if i should cancel my outrigger order, but if its going to be months(i ordered the hour you could actually do it) then id still keep it so i have something…still, wood? module? what?

Delivery is likely around April/May if the handles that arrive in March are good.
if you want the full control of the handle, and have no real use for the outrigger with trigger, get a cheap or used old handle to get you through the weeks until it's there. Or get the dual outrigger which is modular and can be used on both sides for more flexibility.

The grip part of the handle will be offered in metal / rubber combo as usual but at least a wooden version as well. It will probably be possible to change the grip after purchase as well.

Jarred really have to stop this announcements frenzy , for the sake of my bank account ! !

Looks on the thin side for a redvolt.

No Red volt sadly... Its going to be big batteries from this point onwards... :(

I'll be going back to using a V lock on a belt clip. Keeps the camera light weight and powered for a couple of hours.

Is it weapon only or does it work with the epic mx aswell?

While I loved the Side Handle on the Epic, after a while it just become not so comfortable, yes I do have bone issues and just about every finger in my right hand broken, but still I felt that it could have been a little more ergonomic...

Yet I also totally understand while conversation to Jarred about it, that there is only so much you can do when you also have to leave ample room for an internal battery...

So, I am extremely excited for the new Side Handle for the weapon... No battery, well... Ok I'll deal with it... Better Ergonomics, fuck yeah!!

thank you for the clarification!
i didnt realize you could use the dual outrigger on the raven, i wonder how it attaches, in front of the monitor on the back end of the body? i think ill switch my order to the dual then.
looks as if you can take half the dual handle off too right? so if i did get the side handle i could still use half of it on the left side, no? yes?
we really need to know a price estimate and functionality of the side handle!

Mark,

With the weight of PAG latest V-Lock being exactly 2 x a Redvolt .. But with 90 WH of capacity.

Have you considered using:
+) The Raven 'DSMC² Base I/O V-Lock Expander' (using the same material as your Weapon Brain!)
+) PAG L90 Slim ( https://www.paguk.com/landing/pag-l90-slim )
+) The TBA 'DSMC² Red Handle'

It would (if my math is correct) weigh less than the Epic + Side handle did, and with a centre of gravity closer to your wrist.
