Prometheus is an example of visual greatness. Shot on RED.

Wolski did an incredible job. If you ever wondered if RED was up to the task... this is proof.

Ridley's comment was "film grain is so 1960's". Keep in mind that Ridley has shot only film since his beginning... until now.

Wolski and Ridley are shooting RED on their next movie. Wolski's comment... "Epic is the best camera I have ever used".

We are so proud.

In my world, film grain is a post production effect.. and happily so! I want the cleanest image to start with... then its mine to screw up as I choose.
Thanks Jim and co, I'm always learning :)

Saw it on opening day here in London. Beautiful imagery. I'm having a ton of fun with my EPICs too. Oh the ease to shoot and edit/color/finish RED on a laptop and present it flawlessly.

Kudos to making so many people's daydreams their day jobs...

Seeing the 4K clips of Prometheus after 3 days of REDucation was incredibly badass. Speaking of which, LA REDucation was awesome. It's definitely a game changing experience. If you don't know why to shoot 4K/5K, taking REDucation, meeting the pros, and learning the power of the RED workflow is extremely valuable.

But if THAT doesn't do it for you, seeing 4K footage will show you the light.

RED has a lot to be proud for, meeting and exceeding the visual experience of a 100 year old technology with tools that are about 5 or 6 years old.

I bet he's going to love Dragon.

Just Congrats to Jim and the whole Red Team...
You haveworked very hard to do the "best camera I have ever used"... And thanks to have made it a camera that all of us could use, no matter how big our budget is...

I would have swore this words came out of my own mouth... ;)

Congrats Jim... You had a Dream, a Vision, and impossible one... Yet you persevered... And today you and us, all are benefiting from it!!

Dear Jim and all the folks at Red. Since I heard about that small company that is making the first 4K camera which also shoots RAW, I've always been one of your biggest supporter. When I was in cinema school, I was the only one believing in Red. Everyone was "film is better" or "Alexa is better" or "Red is not true 4K because of the Bayer pattern blablabla" (which, IN THEORY is kinda true BUT we all know that Red's magic is that even if we loose a bit of the resolution, the 4K files look as stunning as "a real" 4K so in the end of the day, Red shoots 4K, period !)... I saw lots of movies shot on Red, in fact I always go to see them because it is shot on Red at first, and after because of the story or whatever. Always loved the images.

And then came Prometheus, and the opening shots. I saw it in 3D, 2K (:/). Those shots are the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen in a movie ! And the rest of the film is like that. To me, in the digital cinema industry, there is a before Prometheus and an after Prometheus in terms of image quality. So, kudos to Red, Mister Scott and Mister Wolski. You guys fucking rock !

And so you should be.
The camera continues to surpass my expectations every shoot. I swear the image quality gets better every upgrade... or I'm just learning to find the sweet spot.

It's a gorgeous film and no mistake, just saw it again tonight. Also the Great Gatsby trailer on an Xtreme screen in 3D. Looks equally fantastic,
and when people ask for examples of great RED skin tones, I don't think they need to look any further.
