  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Weapon announced details? How? When?

Where / when will the Weapon list be announced? Here on Reduser, via email, on the main Red site?

Usually Jared or Jim start releasing info here on reduser to coincide with nab.
 
The email that went out gave dates, and that their will be realtime VR streams (i assume in actual RED offices?) ... would be cool for RED to explain that in detail a bit(i find this broadcast concept of 4k+ very interesting):

Returning to the NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 13-16, 2015, RED will be exhibiting in the South Lower Hall Booth #SL1517. Attendees will be the first to see the highly anticipated WEAPON™—the latest digital camera to be added to the RED DRAGON® sensor family. While more details will be revealed during the event, WEAPON will adhere to the company's dedication to OBSOLESCENCE OBSOLETE®—a core operating principle that allows current RED owners to upgrade their BRAIN technology as innovations are unveiled.

RED's booth will have live product demonstrations throughout the event to showcase RED's intuitive workflow. Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at RED's customizable broadcast solutions—offering a live 4K or HD signal while capturing 6K R3D RAW masters—as well as dedicated stills-from-motion workflow demonstrations.

For those unable to attend the event, select locations will give visitors the ability to experience the event as if they were there. NextVR will be supporting both a live and recorded virtual reality experience of RED's NAB booth. Customers who visit RED's global locations in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, United Kingdom, Germany, India, and China—will be able to experience the NAB show that can't be missed. i hope emails too, as much as id love to be at NAB or Red NYC next week I'm under deadlines and hoping to also hear the news somehow while trying to pull 50 or more hours this week..
 
Kind of a missed opportunity it seems unless they wanted to keep it on the down low.
If this would have been known a bit earlier with maybe a wee bit more information - I would've planned a trip to Berlin.
 
I too am wondering where/when we will be able to sign up/get in line for weapon and place our deposit. I didn't receive any email for some reason. Tomorrow morning?
 
That's what I'm wondering, what's the timing of the release of all info, pricing etc. and the timing of the start of the order cue? I assume there will be at least a few hours between the release of info and the start of orders. I could imaging early Monday morning (sometime after midnight) a bunch of info here on reduser.

If I were all of you I'd be online between 11pm through 1am PST.

Because RED every year seems to drop the big info right in there.

And I know Jarred doesn't sleep :)
