WEAPON 29 ARRIVED!

Weapon 29 has arrived last Friday but we've too busy shooting and testing it out so we haven't posted about it.

Guys and gals this camera is top notch! I can't believe all the things this thing can do.

I'll post more photo/video soon of our build outs, setting, comparisons, etc to this tread.

The reduser community has alway been there for me when I had questions so if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask, just don't be a dick about it .

PS coolest thing about this camera is 4K ProRes HQ & 6K RC 4:1 23.98 at the same time. I always thought you could only get 4K ProRes with QuickTime only, but the fact you can shoot 4K prores and RAW at the same time without sacrificing quality is a game changer. Now am a RAW guy but if there is an update down the road for 4K ProRes 4444, Arri Alexa fans because of its ProRes workflow have a lot of contemplating to do.

How would you describe the fan noise vs. the EPIC Dragon? How is the quality of the audio from the scratch mics on the front?

Noise is a lot quieter i feel. It is weird not having my hand warmed while holding the top handle anymore .

The scratch mics aren't currently enabled on the current firmware, but as soon as it become available i'll let you know.

Jacob, not sure if you have time todo some lowlight tests (say vs a Dragon), but I know thats something many are curious to see!

Ie how Weapon stacks vs Epic Dragon at 1280, 2000, 3200, etc.

Simultaneous dual recording?
For natural history work it would be very cool if weapon could record lets say, 150fps in prores and independently record a monitoring output at primary frame rate of 24/35/40/50 or 60p .

Shooting method would be to record primary frame ratess the norm, but when action hots up trigger the recording of the high frame rate.

WAY quieter.

I had to install firmware on an Epic for a test on Friday - and I've been tinkering so much with Weapon for the past weeks that when I heard the fans on the Epic and I thought something was wrong

I'd love to see a 6k @ 3:1 or 5k HD @ 2:1 / ProRes 4K comparison. To see how well it scales down.
