  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We are sponsoring short films

Thread got ninja'd for 3D camera rentals...bring it back to film sponsorship.

We're doing ALOT of these films, so keep those submissions coming. Submissions@epiclevel.com

Anything game culture related: sci-fi, horror, fantasy, game drama, etc.

Is it better if we just keep submitting ideas or would you prefer all the ideas come in one lump? I'm working on pitches for three very separate ideas and just figured I'd be better off submitting together when they're all done. Also, what exactly do you want to see in a pitch? If they're 3-4minute shorts, the actual scripts would be 3-5pages, so it seems weird to make a pitch 3-4 pages long when they're one-off shorts and a lot of pre-pro is already decided (e.g. it's left in our hands and budgets are somewhat set)...

All at once or one at a time doesn't matter much to us. Since we select in batches, you may want to get your first idea in earlier if you want it in an earlier production wave.

We want your pitch to be as easy as possible. So 1-2 pages with an idea is great. If you have a completed script, you can just send that in.

Mr. Kern,

I first want to thank you for all the great work you did at Blizz. I pretty much grew up on a healthy dose of Warcraft 3/Diablo 2/Starcraft. My brothers and I are actually in the process of writing several shorts and I think we have one that is right up your alley. I have a meeting with my writing team on Friday and will bring this up. Hopefully we have what you're looking for!

Thanks for the kind words. :) Looking forward to your submission.

Not intentionally... ;)

I did see all the videos and they do bring some kind of good energy, and have a better idea now, if still interested in doing something together let me know, I think you'll love my idea... ;)

Mark, or anyone local,
If anyone needs a helping hand, I would love to be a part of this. I currently do wedding videography, but would like to get into commercial work. My portfolio is here:

Hi Mark,

A DOP I've worked with before sent this thread onto me. My name is Wade K. Savage and I'm directing a Fallout Fan Film down here in Australia. We're getting lots of great press, and we even have the original Voice Actor from the game involved. I've sent on some material to Cindi, but I also wanted to confirm you are aware of the project. It would be perfect for what you are doing. I'll send a short PM too.

Many thanks.

Just a quick note to update everyone. Thank you for all the fantastic submissions! We have literally received dozens, maybe close to a hundred pitches. We have begun the process of reviewing them and have already greenlit about 10 so far. But we are doing more! There is no deadline, this is a rolling production for our upcoming gaming web station, Stage5.tv

We are putting up to $10,000 in funding for shorts loosely based on gaming or geek culture. Looking for comedy, game parody, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, surreal, animation or live action. Preferred that it is shot on Red. All films to be mastered in 4k.

Thanks again for the great interest and please be patient as we go through all the submissions. Remember, you can send them to submissions@epiclevel.com

Thanks!

Mark

bump....still looking for more submissions. Over 15 project green-lighted so far and first checks cut. Filming already in progress. See first post of this thread.
