  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We are sponsoring short films

Mark, its very good to see others bring god things to the community, well done.

What is this going to be sued for, what is its main purpose?

I might have couple of friends here in Italy I like to recommend, now if it was about Fashion, and had the time I would do it myself he he.

But just so busy with Rape of a Beauty that I don't even have in off hours in a day to get few of them assigned to my beauty sleep... ;)

Hi Ketch:

I was trying to keep this secret, but in the interest of gathering more filmmakers, I'll reveal some more here publicly. My company makes video games, I was the former team lead for World of Warcraft at Blizzard, and left to start my own studio. We are making a game called Firefall. But we are also starting a new gamer oriented channel that focuses on gamers, esports, the rise of indie game development, and more.

Part of this is that we are building all our content in 4k. We firmly believe that in a couple years, there will be hardware that can stream 4k over the web and plenty of retina-display computers to view it. We are future proofing our materials, and we also like the very high quality that RED cameras deliver. We are also developing software with the intent on being on Apple television late this year or early next.

To build the channel we need content. I can't go into details, but we don't make any money off the video directly, or through advertising. What we simply want is the best gaming channel out there. The gaming and geek related short films we are sponsoring go under a section of our website that is like "Liquid Television" from the MTV days.

I'm currently trying to get RED interested in helping to promote this program with our channel, Stage5.tv. Hope this info helps!

No, we will use a rating system, they don't have to be PG. Average audience is over 18.

Sorry to ask another couple of questions, but figured they'd help everyone out if they're in the thread (instead of a PM).

It seems like you plan on doing a few, but do you know roughly how many?

And (assuming you want more than a couple) what about a series? Like if we pitched six or eight 3-4minutes "episodes" following the same group (or would you rather stand-alone shorts)?

We are looking to do 20-40 of these films this year. They will air on a weekly basis.

We are not looking to jump into a series. If a short takes off, then we will look at helping to fund larger efforts, such as a series. One possibility is to do a trailer for your film. Cool factor on a trailer can often ignite more interest and gives us a compass on if we want to shoot more of it.

I guess you can say we are trying to flip traditional funding on its head with these things. We do things very differently at Stage 5. We see a democratization of filmmaking being a disruptive force as distribution channels come down and more TV's start to offer apps that are actually channels of content ( all TVs at CES this year are building this into their sets going forward). Our current software in development will be available on tablet computers as well in the interim.

If you are local to LA, we can provide a lot of support. Equipment packages, lighting packages, small studio space. We have limited post as well, but this is mostly for our internal productions.

Wanna change the world? :)

An appeal to Ketch, cause you're awesome.

We'd love to do something with you. Fashion works in a certain sense. We are doing a Cosplay series where talented game fans are making their own costumes. If there is a cosplay scene in Italy, we'd love to see a short film about it. We're currently sponsoring Crystal Graziano in her work and our series on her will be airing in July....but here are some shots of some things she is helping us with on our own Firefall related content (shot on red, of course. :):

Here is some of the work we did to cover our game at the recent game tradeshow at PAX East:

Mark, I'm putting together an email at the end of the week for you. Just have to wrap up a shoot this week. Very interested in what you're up to. I have a great deal of connections, coworkers, and friends throughout different game studios and artists within CA and outside CA. Curious to see if there's potential in a few ideas surrounding the community itself.

Awesome! Love your stuff, looking forward to it.

Awesome, Ken. Loved your stuff on PAX East! :)

No, we are not privy to Apple's plans. But we know its coming and are prepping for it when it does.

I have the perfect subject for you dating back to old school NES gaming, can't wait to tell you about it.

HA ha...

Mark, email me ( ketchrossi@ketchrossistudios.com ) and lets see if we can do something together for your project, but I need to warn you upfront, that I can't do little 10k shorts, my time right now its so limited that I absolutely need to invest it in worthy projects, however we could develop some serious material if we find the grounds for it, especially so as I am in a country that I think they are so game crazy, material could be written to your specifications, could include both Fashion and gaming, what better then games and girls... ;)

But do to the fact that I'm working on my first Future film, and I'm the Director/Writer/Producer of it, I need to insure no content form me goes out that is not worthy of it, this means that the footage will need to have FX material and needs to go to a Post house like Park Road NZ (Peter Jackson's post house) to insure that the material is perfect!!

What I'm thinking is SUPER SEXY, hot, full of heavy duty armor, that shows some skin, possibly with Graziano her self, including original armors from the game it self, some scenes in 5k 120fps, some scenes in her natural leaving environment as She readies at home and then an unexpected battle, and of course will bring in the Male character as well, just for a short well... More interested in working with girls he he.

Oh... It can be 3D... ;)

If you have interest in doing something of high quality, let me know, if not I'm still up to help you in any way I can... ;)

I was waiting for the "3d" comment. :)

What's a 3d rig like yours rent for a day? 5k?
