Thank your lucky stars you don't live Downunder. We have Red Back spiders here, which are part of the Black Widow family, and they have a fondness for lying in wait on toilet seats. Ouch!

Oh, then you have Funnel Web Spiders. You wouldn't be posting...

Now that your all gimped up does that mean you have some time to shoot some product shots of the Red Primes? ;)

Get well Jarred!

This is Tex... true story.

I would not mess with this guy....

Jarred, Ron is coming over tomorrow with some "medicine" to help the recovery...

Take care buddy!

:) Peter

does that mean what i think it means (another word that begins with an M that can be used for medicinal purposes)? god i need to move out to california...

Oh man Jarred I really feel for you.

I had an invasive strep infection when I was little in my arm. Luckily they caught it really early before they had to take extreme measures. But necrosis is not fun at all. When it first set in I woke up and remember screaming at the tops of my lungs until they got me into the hospital and pumped me full of pain killers.

I too would take a mechanical spider attack over an infectious/necrotic/poisionous injury any day. I'm sorry you had to have both to compare them. ;)

Hope you have a speedy and relatively easy/complication free recovery.

Just as well for your girl the spider didnt bite you further up then

Thats definitely not a fun thought...Black Widows building a nest in your joy department.

Seriously Jarred that like insanely painful.

I was bitten by a spider in Venezula when on business there with my dad, when I was about 9. I was climbing a tree and it bit me several times in a row i think. I don't remember anything apart from a lot of pain. But to add insult to injury I fell out of the tree and broke my ankle after it bit me.

That was the same summer my brother chopped my little finger off. Two trips to the hospital in four months.

the cut was actually from the doctor cutting a hole in the top of my knee to drain out the infection.. That white thing is a drainage wick. The actual bite was very small and really not that painful at the time it happened, but man the pain was pretty incredible 24 hours later. The infection went pretty deep, and i think thats where most of the pain came from as it was right on the knee joint. The meter long ball of wick they shoved in my knee cap wasnt so comfortable either.. luckily i pulled that out at about 4:00am this morning :)

Oh boy.... my wife had an absess from an infection once, and they had to do the same thing... load it full of guaze. I wasn't there when they installed it, but was for the removal... I could not BELIEVE how much gauze they pulled out... it was like a magician pulliing a hankerchief out of his sleeve.. it never stopped.

Thank goodness it wasn't a Brazillian Wandering Spider... check out the last "interesting fact" in this article: http://www.scienceray.com/Biology/Z...ing-Spider-The-Worlds-Deadliest-Spider.557457

Ugh! Blech! YEAAAAUUUCCHHHH!

You've got to be careful around those spiders!

Get well soon Jarred!
Just checked for german delieveries to cal... the delieveries would be a couple of weeks. Only if the price for shipping exceeds the cookie box price by a factor of 10^10, it would be doable in days... d'oh! otherwise I would have tried to make your knee's weight worth in german cookies...

Don't let your sorrow come higher than your knees.

at least it wasnt a brown recluse spider :)

I cleaned out an old shed once and by the time I was finished I had killed 140 brown recluse spiders. It was an adreniline rush everytime I picked something up. Talk about having a bad case of the willies.
