  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Vincent Laforet Directing Motion Classes and DVD

What can I say . . . Imma gimbal gear slut ;-)

That's Zeb's arm holding the MOVI

Heh. I was worried those fingers were growing out of his shoulder for a second. Vince broke his arm at the last Timefest wrestling with a vehicle in the sand. He was still a bit sore at NAB, but he's looking in decent shape now and plus he's got Zeb to man the MoVI.

He showed an x-ray of the broken arm during the presentation. Worth the price of admission. LOL

Just finished watching the HD Download...
Wished I could be there. Can't make it to the US.
Hope Vincent is bringing this to Europe in the Future.

I was also there at the Austin event yesterday thanks to this thread! I had fun pulling focus with Vincent on the MoVi controller. The content was well worth the price of admission.

Dimitri, would you mind to share how long the HD-material is (duration)?

Thanks.

Don't have it here at the moment, but about 6 hours I think..

That's for the daytime session..
The other part will be released in July.

I also went to the San Diego event. It was definitely worth the time & admission.... Plus, it's San Diego! Sure beats Oklahoma summer any day.

I'm combing back through the digital download to get every bit of info I can from it. If I had the time I'd do it again.

Thank you Dimitri. I have ordered it five minutes ago.

I asked as well the distributor last week, I got an hour ago the answer: "Day" five hours and "Evening" one and a half hour.

As I produce since a decade educational stuff on my own, I know how much work that is.

I think for me, it is for this year the best money spend. :o)

I just completed the Houston seminar yesterday and what Vincent has done here is given us a gift. Not to be missed! Just make sure you are well rested/hydrated the day before so you will get the most out of it, he covers a lot of ground, including shooting a complete multi cam scene, from pre to post, actors and all. This is not just a class in theory, but practical application as demonstrated by master directors, and what Laforet himself brings to the table is just unreal. I had to thank him afterwards. As an aside, he was under the weather during the seminar, but you would never had known it, he still gave all. Also, be early.

Ok dumb question here - but I went to the austin event 9am to 8pm but where do we download the content? I've seen the purchase streaming page but I thought it was included in the cost?

Not a dumb question because there was no explanation on how this works. You should receive an email with a link and code to download the videos. Mine took about a week. They have to include a custom watermark or something along that line to keep it from being pirated. I assume this is why it takes sometime before you receive the email. You get two download attempts and two weeks to complete a download. Do yourself a favor and right click then click "save link as" or "save target as", otherwise it will load the video into your browser if you just click the download button. I wasted a download attempt because I clicked the download button.

Does the email with link and code get sent after one has attended the event?
I registered on May 1st for upcoming July 10th in Brooklyn, but haven't heard a peep since.
