  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Given that you've rented a Bartech several times (and I assume M-One motor, but correct me otherwise), may I ask what you liked better/worse about the Viewfactor?

The thing I like most is how easy it is to calibrate the Viewfactor. If you've got cine lenses with hard stops you just put the motor on and hit the cal button. Few seconds later the entire thing is ready to go. No fussing trying to manually find the end of the lens travel.

It's nice to have a much smaller receiver that is very lightweight. The controller unit is also much smaller than the bartec. Of course, it is slightly harder to hold onto if your hands get sweaty and I haven't figured out a solution for that yet. But it is nice not to have to hold a heavy, giant brick in your hand when you are pulling focus.

God almigthy, this is such a joke... In this thread you'll find all the suckers (including me). I wonder who will write the #3000 post! Just 55 to go.

Guys, don't worry... Curt has all of our motors built and ready to go.... He was just waiting on post #3000 before shipping them out.

:willy_nilly:

Does anyone have any way of getting in touch with Curt or his team? I have been trying for 4 weeks now and absolutely no answer on phone and email comes back about 2 weeks later.

I just got a reply by mail today.. It taken them about 4 weeks to reply... No news though, but they are still in business (my biggest worry right now).

i've been phoneing 10 times a week....
they were picking up until they started promising me delivery dates...
now i think my calls are getting screened.

what on earth would happen if we really need to get suppport once we get the thing

curt just called me personally....

he is still very much in business and in it for the long haul...
the chinese parts fiasco has caused him a real nightmare, and assembly now means going through piles of parts with calipers to see which one of the thousands are in spec, then machining the parts that are not to tolerance. He has die-cast coming on line but until then assembly will be slow.
He was very apologetic about the time frame and lack of communication.

I understand people being very pissed (so does Curt) but I'm positive were not being scammed. I am very sympathetic to a small business who through unforseen circumstances damaged there reputation.

that being said...were almost at post 3000

might be a reason for asking for a refund :-)

Yup: saw that. There is a better review here: http://www.freshdv.com/nab

Scroll down to the bottom. It shows more detail about how the sonar auto-focus will work.

I hate to say it but, unless Curt's motors are much quieter, stronger, or reliable than the Redrock motors, he now has about 2-3 months to get his product out there or it is game over for him (and us).

I tried calling this week, but got an answering machine.

One post closer to 3000...

Any news someone??

Did we lose the money forever?

Is anybody asking for refund and is anybody getting it?

I have payed 2200 USD or something like that, and I don't remember when i payed them....
