  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Using these SMA antennas we are getting around 100-125 feet consistently. The biggest thing I want to get squared away is a solid mounting method that wont get ripped off during normal operation - I'll let you all know how that goes.. Thanks for holing on a bit longer....

Perfect.

Thanks for keeping us all in the loop.

Thanks for the update Curt!

Will there still be an internal antenna? Or will we have to mount the SMA antenna even for short range operations?

Nice work fellas.

p

thanks guys. we appreciate you getting it right and working your ass off.

I ordered antennas... Prototyping parts between now and thurs and will have pics up as soon as something is presentable. The solution is actually pretty elegant... It doesn't require modifying our existing tooling to make it work out.

Great news ... thanks for the update !!

That's great news for us customers and i would think a BIG 'thank god' for you guys that this is a quick fix. Great results for such a small mod don't you think?:sorcerer:

Very happy.

appreciate the updates Curt......

you guys are on the last stretch....almost done!!!!

you deserve at least an afternoon off after this :)

Curt, great meeting you yesterday at HD Expo, and congratulations on a fine piece of kit. I was totally floored with the demo showing your wireless FF running a canon lens on Birger mount by bluetooth. Rodney Charters was very positive about your gear when I chatted with him. I putting in my order!

Hey all, here is a quick render of the new bluetooth Antenna.. This is one of two ideas we're trying out. We're cranking out protos over the weekend and should have pictures soon. Thanks for being patient, I think this is going to really help the range and reliability.

I was expecting something like the ol' whip attenna's from a CB radio!!! heheh.

I dont think anyone could complain about that little stub....then again...

What's the realistic timeframe on this, Curt? Please ... No anniversary (I ordered on March 22nd, 2008).

I think that will be fine. Although, I would like you to flatten out the back a little so if you place it down on a flat surface it won't roll to one side or the other.

Matthew

Nice point. Curt when you say 100-120 feet is that line of sight, best case scenario or is that real world, including inside with the cam in another room?

If you still want feedback, then I'd say 100ft through some walls is what is needed by me. I will be capturing/montoring using a wireless transmitter that has a reliable 33 meters through walls. It would be great if the VF unit will match that. Thanks

Still here....the 100-120 was tested inside our building going through one wall through the shop by all the metal equipment, cnc, laser, storage. Outside is more but my rangefinder couldnt see down a small hill ;)

Load bearing block/brick/cavity wall, or stud/plasterboard non-loadbearing wall?!
:)
