Lets all try to see the glass as half full. I have had my company shut down for the holidays until tomorrow (Tuesday Jan 6). Give then a day or so (and lets all cross our fingers).

There was an update Jan 2 @ http://viewfactor.net/forum/index.php?topic=89.15

I saw the brothers on a flight to Paris...they had a suitcase full of cash.

Ha Ha funny (actually it was), but personally I am looking for the facts here. Anyone hear anything else?

My account is ok, tony, i dont know what happen to yours. Perhaps you can try again or use different browser, accessing to the store also isnt a problem. What's the problem here?

There's no point discussing over here as the curt brother's already said wont give any update in this thread. Jump over to their forum.

This seems to be the official word on the ViewFactor forum, as of 1/2/09:

We will update you when we can. We cant afford to spend our life on here everyday. We worked through Christmas and New Years. Parts continue to come in. We have all the boards for the backlog built up as well as the boards for Impero and the Receiver. There are many more little things that you guys will appreciate down the road such as the ability to save off lens data to an external flash drive and update the firmware very easily.

We have given all we can within reason. We know we have your money and we are not just sitting down doing nothing. We work 20 hours a day for you to get this revolutionary product. Be aware we will do updates when we can but only here and not on Reduser.

Our website is undergoing upgrades and will be experiencing outages and errors while this is being done. We have hard copies of all orders so no worries there. Any more updates will be by Curt as I am away doing US NAVY things on orders...so no real choice there. We are bringing on another hand next week. Before you say it no we cannot hire another worker before as workers in California are expensive. Thats all for now its late here in MS and I have to get up at 430

John

PS For those worried about hardware upgrades...We didn't change the hardware on the buildup Inclinos. Only the receiver and Impero were changed. The boards only take a few days to get. Trust me when I say you will love it.

whatever the outcome. I will never do business with this kind of disrespectfull non communicating amateurish people again!

I don't expect a date for delivery if its not possible at this time ... but I do expect an update on to where the Imperos are up to and what the holds up are.

An update will take no more than 5 minutes... to keep us all happy. We know you are working very hard on all this.

PLEASE give us an UPDATE Curt !!!

I will do business with these helpful, passionate, non-greedy, very slightly naive paradigm changing pioneers!!

Michael,

I admire you positive view on this. I've learned my lesson now. I will never, ever pay the full amount for a purchase before receiving the goods again!
And I would love to get my money back (don't expect to). So that I can buy a FF with a professional company.

Ed - I don't think you need to fear about your money. I just got an e-mail from Curt yesterday and he has no problems with returning my payment.

Tony,

Thank you for your reply.
I will send them an E mail right away.
Keep you guys informed.

I too was wondering about the delay, so I decided to contact ViewFactor. I talked to Curt on the phone and the the bottom line is I'm not worried at all any more. I believe we'll next get an update from them when they have good news. And I think that'll be soon.

My plan is to cut them some slack and hope this last bit of software development doesn't take too much longer. I'm a software guy, so I know all too well how difficult and unpredictable scheduling software development can be.

Do I wish they gave us more timely status updates? Yes. But for now I'm feeling ok and more than willing to continue waiting.

I just got an e-mail from Curt yesterday....

So that's why it's taking so long.... He keeps having to answer emails and talk on the phone instead of working....

just kidding

Funny, Curran :)

Just out of curiosity - did you fork out $15k upfront for the Mirus when you ordered?

There's no doubt. . . the waiting here is wearing on all of us. Believe it or not, and I've mentioned this before, the ViewFactor follow-focus system was supposed to be available for me to shoot my first film back in MAY! Now, I'm starting to wonder if it will be here in time for the next film this spring!

And it's the same sad story on the Birger mount.

:-(
