  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Check to make sure the GPIO setting for the input is "ACTIVE LOW" and that the output is "ACTIVE HIGH". Also make sure its not in timelapse or varispeed mode. If that doesn't' fix it then is there any way you can test it with another camera? We have see a number of cameras where the GPIOs aren't working correctly. One situation this last week we had an origo on one camera working fine then moved it to another camera and it didn't work. Put it back on the first camera and it was still fine. If it is on our side we will send a replacement but if its on red's side then you'll have to send the camera in for repairs to get the problem fixed.

OK update time.... All the new parts checked out. We are building up the assembly fixtures and should have a decent yield towards the midle of the week. Our goal is to get a dozen units running for life tests and start in on thermal/mechanical testing this week. We have some heavy hitting guys lined up for the "in the trenches" testing and I'm very excited that we could start shipping first units out the door as early as the beginning of next week.

Some info that I've gleaned over the past few days... 1) The motors have a LOT of torque. 2) This PVD coating is bad ass. I threw several of the older units against the floor as hard as I could and it has little effect. 3) The delay between turning the knob on Impero and seeing the motion on Inclino is imperceptible. It really feels like you are turning the lens directly on the Impero controller. 4) The Impero looks stunning with the new graphics (no longer in monotone). 5) The noise is better than shown previously in our videos. Its still not 100% gone but if you do normal speed shots its fine. Stay tuned for the side by side A-weighted SPL comparisons with a bartech/M-one and preston DM1/DM2 (by the end of the week). 7) Eating 12 bite size snickers bars does not agree with my stomach.

We'll get a video and photos up asap...

Curt, try Reeses, better for you since they have peanut butter.

Thanks for the update man

That's cool ! Move another step again..thanks for the heads up

Thanks for the update Curt!
I can see light at the end of the tunnel! :usd:

you don't want to work in this business if your allergic to nuts

Hey Curt, thanks for the update! When you say first units, do you mean like some of the first 50 SHIPPING units or first TESTING units? We're in the first 50 and don't mind testing if the latter is the case.

I mean both... We would absolutely love if the first 50 would take delivery of the units knowing that they aren't 100% field tested. We feel very confident that they will hold up mechanically and electrically but the firmware testing is what needs to be fine tuned by having it in the pro's hands.

I'm more like number 148 or something like that but I would be very interested in taking delivery knowing that they may need some fine tuning.

Not sure what you mean by "pro's," but I can assure you we don't do wedding videos.

#23 wants all you guys to test away till your hearts content, so i have nice shiny new Inclino's & Imperio's that work first time, right out of the box.....
Thanks guys i really appreciate it.....:sarcasm:
