Right now Lemo is backlogged by several thousand connectors. Everyone is waiting on them. We have a LOT on order and expect to have them in our hands on Feb. 28th (assuming they deliver on time). We will have them back up for ordering the minute we have a tracking number from Lemo.

Brook,
I've got your APU-AB and it's truly awesome! It keeps the Epic small, light, and compact (as intended). Yesterday I discovered an issue when I tried to use my Hytron 140's on the Epic. The width of the battery prevented the SSD card from sliding out when a reload was necessary. Is there any solution to this problem as I'd like to use these batteries in the future.

Thanks for the kind words, Steve.

The Hytron 140s are so large that they block the SSD module. Unfortunately the only solution would've been a bad one for all other batteries - we either would've had to move the battery plate off of the camera's centerline [throwing the balance off] or make the battery plate thicker [making the whole assembly heavier]. I suppose that's the downside of using a battery that's as large as the camera. :)

The only solution will be to either remove the battery [or battery plate] when reloading or install the battery plate [with adapter] on the back of a Module Adapter. It's not ideal, I know. To date you're the third person I've heard from who is using Hytrons and has run into this.

We can certainly look into the reality of making a spacer plate for Hytron owners, I'll look into it!

would a spacer plate weigh less than the module adapter?

Yes, it would be quite light. I'll keep you guys posted. We're actually already working on something that - if slightly modified - could fill that need quite nicely.

Anybody in LA have a Hytron they want to lend for measurements?

Brook,
Glad to hear you're open to a fix for the issue. I'm in LA and you're welcome to use a Hytron 140 of mine for as long as you need.

Brook,
It seems the battery just needs to move over approx. 1/4" inch, I wouldn't think that would be a center balance problem, especially with all the accessories we hang on the Epic already. Thoughts?

Unfortunately the only solution would've been a bad one for all other batteries - we... ...would've had to move the battery plate off of the camera's centerline [throwing the balance off]...

Exactly why we left the plate centered. It is a downside to having such a small camera; using Hytrons [the largest AB battery that I'm aware of] results in interference. Ultimately we didn't want to sacrifice performance for all other batteries for the sake of the Hytrons... hence the centered battery plate.

There are two ways to fix it: one is to move the battery plate off-center and the other is to shift the battery plate towards the rear of the camera by enough distance to fully clear the SSD insertion [several inches]. Since the latter isn't a reasonable option, the only solution will be to make a small adapter plate to shift the AB plate over to the right slightly for Hytron users in the plate-on-body configuration.

What sort of solution interests you guys?

For my taste moving it over a fraction is perfect! Very exciting......Let me know is you need a Hytron 140 to measure. Thanks!

Have you ever tried the Hytron 50's with the AB plate on Scarlet? Do they work?

They work perfectly, as do all other Anton Bauer batteries and every IDX/V-mount battery I've come across. The only issue is a slight interference issue with the Hytron 140, which is pictured below. It's simply too wide for the Epic, causing interference with the SSD when reloading.

I mean with Power. On AB website they list it is N/A for time as they said it might not have the power needed for this camera. I am looking to buy your plate but I have two of this want to make sure they would work with camera and the plate.

I've done it a few times, it definitely works... though it may be outside of the amperage rating of the battery or something similar. Let's say that I wouldn't put it towards the top of my battery purchase list.

The size of the 140's actually works in your favor when your using long zooms like a 24x290 Optimo. It gives you more back weight for a little better balance and you can shoot all morning on a battery and a half.

Received my P-Tap to USB today! Currently have it plugged into my Hired Gun Video 150WH v-mount battery and my iPhone. Hooked it up 38 minutes ago and it's gone from about 47% to 89%.

Sadly, my Redmote is still not here, or I'd have more cool photos of that being charged.

It seems a little smaller than I was expecting.

Thanks to Brook and VF for designing this handy accessory :)

Photos to come (well, there's one on my twitter too, but it's a crappy pic)
