Ordered! Also picked up a Shuttle mount... think that should be a handy pair!

Thanks Brook for keeping up the innovation.

Trivia question: what does APU stand for? Add-on Power Unit??

Let me just check the first sentence of this thread... ;)

After months of prototyping, testing and feedback, I want to finally introduce the first of the Auxiliary Power Unit battery plates for the Epic.

How does one order an APU-AB plate... i know you'r out of stock, but is there some sort of wait list to get on for that. I've been accustomed to the Red store order & wait but at least your name is in the que. As usual, all my inquiries have been met with silence.

Eli, I'm not sure why you're having problems... But I'll ask.

There is no wait list in the interest of avoiding complexity and potentially promised ship dates when we are at Lemo's mercy. I'll see if we can build a notification list to put on the page... At least that way we can blanket email when the connectors are back!

We are considering making the plates available with RED One Lemo connectors as an option, as well as offering them sans-AB or IDX plate for those who already have their own.

Ditto, I've tried emailing, no reply.

@Brook, don't suppose you have a couple of spare APU-AB plates laying around in Sydney that you want to get rid of? I'm about 1hr north.

Otherwise, I'll just wait patiently for the products to be available on the website.

What email address are you guys using? I occasionally hear that people slip through the cracks but I know that I've never had emails go more than a day without being responded to. Maybe VF has a bad email address or phone number floating out there that people are still using.

There's a whole new website going up in the next week or so that has a support ticket system and vastly improved communication which will hopefully squash this bug!

I'm out of plates personally, Mark... I only brought a few on a whim! Naturally, nobody anticipated Lemo running out of stock [including Lemo's distribution channels]. I know that VF is simply out of connectors, it's a real bummer. There are demo plates in the shop but they're for exactly that purpose... demo. Lemo is going to have some serious orders on their hand when the connectors return to stock. You should see how many battery plates we have assembled and sitting on the bench... all completely ready to go but no connectors to make 'em work! :(

The silver lining is that the time spent in a holding pattern on battery plates has allowed for some major steps forward in other places. Expect a lot of announcements in the coming weeks.

Hi Brook, do you know when longer cables will be on offer. The one that currently comes with the plate is limiting.

I'm thinking 24" [should be enough for most on-camera rigs, putting at the back of modules, etcetera] and 6' [with the belt clip adapter]. If you have preferences, make them known!

The parts are in and the page is built, they're just wrestling with the website side of it. The entire website is going to change very soon... for the better.

Thanks Brook, order done...

Since this seems to be the catch-all thread for ViewFactor plate related stuff... Has anyone else noticed their Epic failing (or succeeding) to switch to RedVolt/handle power when a battery is removed from the VF plate? I, along with at least a couple of other folks have been experiencing this behavior. Though it may not be specific to the VF plate - just wondering if anyone with the APU is successfully hot-swapping without powering down.

Here's the thread for the issue: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?69983-Epic-not-switching-over-to-Redvolt-when-Vmount-pulled

I sent an e-mail with an inquiry before finding this thread. I sent it via the "contact us" form on the website a couple of days ago and also haven't received a reply. No biggie - but thought you should know.

Got the shipping notice for my P-tap USB adapter tonight along with my Shuttle mount... Looking forward to trying it out!
