Here's the best picture I have for now. The gap you see between the plate and the body is only there if you use the washers that ship with the package - as many people have reported, it's possible to just use the shoulder screws with no washers. :)

Placed my order last Tuesday, very happy to have V-Mounts as a power option. On a totally unrelated note, how's that backorder situation looking? :0)

Hi guys,

Is it true that the V mount plate does not work simultaneously with the top handle? Specifically, I am looking at the Wooden Camera Top handle: http://www.woodencamera.com/top-handle-leather

Unfortunately, I cannot find specific dimensions for that handle.

If that is the case, is it better to go with the AB plate? I have not invested in either platform, so it doesn't matter too much. I suppose the only advantage of V Mount is that there is likely to be a lot of red bricks around sets in these parts...

Anyway, just looking for an answer on if the top handle (the red handle or the wooden camera handle) clear the battery with the V Mount plate and the AB plate.

Thanks!

Brook - so what you're talking about would be an adapter for the current APU-IDX plate?
Not a whole new battery plate, correct?

Hi Brook, was this ever answered?

I'd like to know as well, considering I want to be able to mount to 15mm/19mm rods soon...

Hey Paul,

So you have the Viewfactor plate? And Red Bricks? Is it sweet? Seems like such a tidy solution compared to the red v plate on rods.

When the handle is pointed forward, how much does it protrude over the lens mount?

Does anyone have the Wooden Camera handle? I'd love to know the dimensions.

Thanks!

Used one of these plates last week, super elegant design and cant wait any longer for the RED backpack!

Just ordered for our kits. Thanks Brook.

Don't worry, Andrew... when your Backpack arrives, you'll be able to slide the APU into it with the backpack interface adapter.

Think its a big IF the backpack ever arrives ;) been a bit let down by the order allocation system at red of late.

Havent found myself with a need to mount anything on the rear of camera yet, short of steadicam jobs so think your plate will cover 99% of my needs for the foreseeable future anyway.

Good to know though brook, thanks.

When can we order that adapter out of interest?

To VF or Brook, is there a lot of orders in the que for the IDX plate?

I also will be running the 19mm w/swit rail for the top handle, i think it may have enough clearance for the battery, hard to tell.

Thanks!
