  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

V-mount Battery Chart

slightly off topic: I had a problem with a rental battery that was giving me an intermittent contact, and killing the camera when it was jostled in the slightest. i picked one of these up:

in case i have a similar problem in the future and/or so i can hot-swap batteries on a DSMC2 body, or i can use it in a pinch if there are only v-mounts available (i'm using the WC anton bauer plate.) it's a pretty handy cable to have in your bag.

i'm also using the dynacore mini 155wh batteries. love how they fit and i've had consistently good results using their batteries.

I just got my Raven yesterday and my Varizoom D-8161S 190wh V-Mounts fit and show remaining battery percentage. I was pleasantly surprised by that, I was concerned that the wouldn't fit on the V-lock expander because they are big batteries. I also have 2 Varizoom D-8160 190wh batteries and they show voltage.

I've updated the spreadsheet with the new Dynacore Mini 95W that Jarred mentioned in another thread, and cleaned up a few messy edits some people left behind. Have at 'er if you're looking for new batteries!

If you've bought any of these, feel free to add a comment with your experience, notes on whether they communicate run-time to your Red, etc.

For one, I don't recommend the Bebob batteries. They're the smallest by weight/volume except of the pricier PAGs, but I've had all four of them die on me over time. I don't think they can handle the power draw of a Red. I'd stay away if you have the option.

great work Trevor / awesome resource any possibility of adding if the battery has d tap to one of the columns ?

Does anyone know where you can get the new Pag 150 batteries and its in Stock. We need some for a shoot in 2 weeks, but noone has them in stock that I have found and I want to avoid getting the 96Wh batteries!

Marcel—I've added the D-Tap column. Everyone feel free to fill in the info for batteries you know.

Though, keep in mind... battery D-Taps are often not fused. I'd recommend staying away from D-Tap in general, since it's easy to reverse the plug and fry gear. But if you must use it, I'd recommend you use a fused D-Tap which many mounts have (e.g. on the Red V-mount expander)

Could somebody explain the term " simultanious charging"
TIA!
