  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Update on another Shoulder-Rig System in the works

Couple of questions if your watching this thread..
Presume you've tried an epic / Scarlet on your top plate top plate compatible with Epic / Scarlet or is it more Arri / PV ?
and is the QR plate i see the shoulder pad on compatible with the DSMC system?

Re the battery plate i see in the vid? you working on interface plates for AB / v lock or will that be third party?

And if you want some R&D advice one thing thats missing from pretty much all the rigs is a convenient roll switch. i like to be the guy to button on quickly when i see something and I'm very used to having the button tight at my fingers with a film cam and i even have an infrared button by my thumb for the odd 5D shoot. My 2cents anyhoo

cheers
jas

Things look so clean in 3D.. real world is more messy. Here is our clutch with"cat on shoulder config" using an extra quick plate with long rods... it's a bit clumsy but I like that it can slide on a dowtail on the "lower deck" quick plate without anything being taken on or off. Also the camera can slide on the "top platform" to get in proper balance just as the behind shoulder bricks and teradek.

The camera comes off with a click without follow focus etc.
Or the camera and rods comes of by sliding of the top dovetail.
The lower quick plate can hold assesories as remote focus etc. in this case it's empty.

to me the clutch does not work without an extra dove tail on the shoulder an extra quick plate. As is the camera gets far to front heavy especially if shooting with side handle batteries. Fredrik's rig on the other hand allow to put the weight in balance with a bit less parts to say the least :)

Hi Jason,

We're working on compatibility on almost any camera system, but certain things have to be ours. You will be able to use our QR plate on "other" platforms, but you can't use other platforms to have our shoulder pad. That will have to be our platform. So answer will be yes on both your question about the plate, if I understood it correctly.

As for battery plate. We're looking into making it compatible with most of the manufacturers out there (Switronix, IDX etc, but also AB). AB is a little different though, but don't worry we're working on it :).

Gavin,

Be careful on what you wish for LOL ;). We're working on final prices and are very close. Right now we're making sure our production line is only highest quality and aside ourselves, we're also partnering up with only the most professional manufacturers there is.

How does military grade, aerospace engineering sound :). Or maybe you guys want the rig in super sports car red as a colour (Ketch should be proud of that one LOL). No names mentioned ;). Our quality of engineering, will be the highest achievable in the industry and as for prices.... Well we've done some calculating in what we will offer, to what prices are from competition and Gavin... you're not to far off :). Just do the math when we announce it later on.

Björn you're a man of few compliments, but I just think you gave us one LOL..... (our rig is so far promising - so don't worry about the renders you've seen ;). It will be as clean as it looks ;) )

Thanks guys for the interest - we're getting close, very close..... (so sign up for our news letter, things are cooking and soon is closer than we might think)

Hi again Jason,

I'm sorry. I just realized you actually asked about the top plate as well. Yes we're working on some really nice solution for all cameras out there. So the answer is that the top plate solution will eventually work for most cameras. I think it will bring a lot more pro feeling for them. There will finally be a top solution worth using :).
