  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Trost Slider GROUP BUY - limited time

Interested in the slider. Looks really solid. A little short for my taste though. Any plans to make longer versions?

Hi Marcos,

1) Any chance you guys develop your own bowl (75, 100, 150mm and Mitchell) to have a more complete system?

Yes. This is the #1 thing that people have been requesting, so this is what we'll do next. We'd like to make it as low-profile as possible - this will be easier for Mitchell, but harder for 75/100/150 bowls because the bolt+tiedown lengths are all over the place.

2) Will you be developing any motorized solution for the slider for timelapses, etc?

Yes, we're working on this now. If anyone has ideas/requests for features, this would be a good time to let us know!

3) What about cases for transporting the slider? Most of us here travel to different locations, sometimes around the globe. It would be nice to have a custom case.

We want to do this, but it will likely happen after the two items above. A rental customer of ours, Rule Boston, has suggested the Pelican
Pelican iM3220 Storm Case. This would hold a Trost 100cm, but not the 100x50 2-axis model.

Yes, this will be pretty easy to do. What length were you thinking?

seems like this gitzo head is a perfect fit for the slider? is this a video head?

Hi Paul. No its not a video head but for macro stuff and 80 percent of most slider stuff, the head rarely moves. So it's great for most things as it has 3 axis to correct the horizon quickly.

Welcome to Reduser Gabe and congrats on the fantastic Slider you guys have created... I see some serious magic coming with the use of the 100+50 combo... ;)

Thanks for your support and for supporting Reduser thru this group buy and thanks again to Bob for bringing it together, my Producer here in Barcelona is also getting one... ;)

Would this be adaptable to the existing slider that we are ordering? I vote for Mitchell

I agree with a Pelican or other hard case that will handle both sliders and accessories. A hard case is a must for rentals.

So I pulled the trigger on the Cinevate/Tenba Grip/Slider case. They're discounted $150 bucks right now. Lots of room to leave the head on or add the tripod in the case too.

UPDATE: BHPhoto has put the price back to regular. :(
UPDATE 2: Greg Milneck has pointed out that its at Adorama for $199.

Hi Gabe the 5 foot range would be great. A little more room to move.

This should be possible in the future, although it will be a custom order.

That's the goal. Ideally we'll let you just drop the bowl adapter on and lock it via our quick release.
