  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

It's not even a trailer. It's a teaser TO THE trailer.

I, for one, don't excited at the build up to a trailer; I prefer the real thing (i.e. the movie) instead.
 
Ok, ok, I'm sorry to have begun this discussion about teasers and trailers. Just posted it for the sake of another big production shoot with an EPIC... being this the RED forum I thought people would be interested in having a look... :emote_hippie:

Hehehe Anyway, I'm with Jesper, it's simply a teaser, but I guess the marketing guys feel the need of advertise/sell things, so you don't do a teaser, you do a trailer of the trailer! Hehehe The more you think about it, the more hilarious it sounds!

Will they be able to use a module to allow for bomb EVF and LCD at the same time? I imagine shooting off the touchscreen LCD on such a big production will be difficult.
Is there any video breakout boxes to allow for more BNC outputs from the main brain? Maybe one for an onboard SDI monitor and the other 1 or 2 to feed to village?

There are plenty. I intact most HDSDI monitors has in and loop out....

I Like the 2x squeeze better as well. The 1.3 is not so visible more to fill out the 2:35 without tossing pixels away. The 2x is loosing a lot of resolution but I find the anamorphic look so appealing it does not do much difference to me. We shot this with 2x Technovision lenses on the epic:

Well, truth is I'm experimenting with it all, but yeah 2x is what Ana has been know for, and I'm not in to calculating pixels as much as other, but am all for the final look they produce, so testing will continue, especially now that we have ANA mode on Epic, will be fun as we have a shoot test next week in Ana.
 
Using anamorphic on the epic, you are using anamorphic lenses as well?
 
I hope they can make a sequel this time around next (unless the sequel has a older main character that looks like a body builder, then they can make the sequel with Arnie :-) ).
 
The trailer looks REALLY GOOD! :)

Man, since I was a kid and dreamed of making movies, I dreamt of shooting them in scope with Panavision cameras and anamorphic lenses. I'm still that kid - but now it's EPIC+Panavision C SERIES. :)
 
Just saw the full trailer. Woah, that's what they call "tactile filmic look". Overal mood, textures, light, skin tones and them flares, all good. Maybe a bit grainy, but even that looks pretty "filmic".
