  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

In that very first pic, at the top (on a fisheye?), you look a lot like LOUIS CK (who's a genius!).

Wait...he ALSO owns an Epic...

LOL, every single thing in the chopper is secured and double-checked and then checked again by an engineer before we fly. There can be no loose items. What are shoes going to protect me from, a 1,000 foot fall from the helicopter?

Totally up to you what you wear, of course, but for someone to suggest it is somehow "cool" to be barefoot while working in/with heavy machinery...... Not cool. Believe me, I've been in a helicopter crash while filming. Was very happy that I had boots on, when I regained consciousness. My head was badly cut, which is why I now wear a crash helmet while filming in choppers. Do whatever you want, but if the shit hits the fan...... :-)

Have I ever mentioned how much I absolutely LOVE my Red Epic M camera? Eric Kessler was kind enough to buy this camera for me back in January 2011, when we did not have enough money in the TimeScapes budget, but at a crucial moment in the film, when I desperately needed it. I will never forget what Eric did for me.

Since then, I have been shooting on this camera -- Epic M #144 -- for a year a half, without a single hiccup, or problem, ever. Considering the ridiculous complexity of the technology involved in making a 4K RAW camera that shoot 100 frames per second and is small enough to hold in the palm of your hand, it's stunning how perfectly this camera has performed. I can rely on it. I trust it. Yes, I LOVE IT :)

Eric and his entire team are great( I have every major component of the Kessler gear, and what I love about it is how all the different components work together).

Tom, can you comment on using the Epic with the new Kessler digital motion control system - my RED system normally runs close to 20 pounds (brain&RPP) and I want to know if it can handle that much weight(my track is mainly horizontal in my uses)?
 
Great, I think giving improves your karma, and further more it's probably by far the best way of investing. Mr Kessler will have good things coming his way now doubt.
