  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

TOIA & EPIC kill a spare 5 minutes.

Love the footage! One question though. The edge of the bird flying at around 1 minute in, seems green to me. Anyone else?

Water drops also show optical blurriness. I also think the Epic is much sharper than the red one and therefore shows off the optical limitations.

If you want to shoot 2k with the Epic you need better optics than if you would shoot 4k (for the same screen size/resolution) which seems logic.

I also use the 300mm without support (don't tell anyone)... but that is about as big and heavy as I think you should go.

Jim

This sounds like an opportunity for a DSMC type monopod support from RED, a la Really Right Stuff, one that allows the camera to pivot on axis 90º but yet supports both the lens and the body.

Really nice footage.. What was you shutter speed?

Mark, would you post some full-res 2k excerpt(s)?

Pablo Picasso is having dinner and a woman walks up and interrupts him..

"I am sorry could you just draw something for me on this napkin, please?"

He draws a sort of cubist version of the wine - glass, I have seen this image and it is very Picasso, but a simple line drawing none the less...

When he is done she goes to pick the napkin - to leave with it...

Picasso says "that will be $20,000 please"...

"BUT it only took you FIVE minutes !!' she exclaims..

" Madam that took me a lifetime to know how to do"

... i rest my case

Nice one Mate

VERY well said Mike.

love the video and also love the shot of the canon guy :) I was wondering if you knew the guy or not :)

The guy with the canon is the Ad agency art director. Scott.
I gave him the camera to shoot some stills. We all decided that the stills from the Epic are the way to go :)

The RPP 300mm is the single most under appreciated lens in the world. :-)

Jim

It's one of my every day lenses and I really like using it! So sharp and the focus ring is just great!
