Im impressed as well considering its only using 1/2 the chip... actually less!... 5k down to 2k part fo the sensor. It really proves how good that chip and processing really is.

I also use the 300mm without support (don't tell anyone)... but that is about as big and heavy as I think you should go.

Are you rating 320ISO on this with careful exposure or maybe 500ISO just to protect the highlights a bit.

That sensor loves daylight. I try not to light starve it too much.

I guess in particular with the 300mm (doubled to 600 at HD!) the extra contact point is also pretty indispensible on a monopod.
