Well, I have a set of non-rehoused Leica R duclos modded and imo they're the best lenses for the money! I'm sure the TLS are a treat to use.

BTW Luigi if you want a sleeper set of lenses, try Minolta Rokkors. Minolta was so good back then they partnered with Leica to help with the Leica R line.

They are getting expensive, but def should be considered "Baby Leica's" - except they look even more retro than Rs.

And of course cover Full Frame.

Luigi,

Here's some test

Cinescope and TLS cine rehoused Leica R primes at BSC Expo

Have had a set for about a year. Couldn't be happier with them.

This is the latest little job shot on them. All but one scene (glowing LED ball) were shot on the Leica's.

Very pretty Mark!
Are all those flares and blooms done in camera or are some added after? Looks like you worked hard at getting these vintage lenses to get a flare of some kind in almost every shot.
We have a set of these Re-housed Cinescope Leica R's .... love them!

All the flares are in camera. Director and I have a collection of torches that get a bit of a workout on these shoots. :)

Hey Mark do you mind me asking what camera you used and if any diffusion was used?

Was about a 50/50 split between Varicam LT and EVA1 other than 3 or 4 shots that the director shot on A7s as pickups (glowing LED ball). No diffusion...heavily flaring the leica's softens things off quite a bit.

I have a set of non rehoused Leica R's and they're awesome, If you get a set make sure they're within the same year or two or they might not colour match. I'd also get them serviced from a Leica store as the focus throw can vary in stiffness which is obviously annoying. If you've got the funds then get them rehoused, I was quoted £5000 per lens so unfortunately I didn't!
