  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDRAY NOW SHIPPING...

Congratulations! I'm really excited, can't wait to get mine (hopefully) soon. :)

Those of you who asked about the RREncode process:

Included with REDRAY is the RREncoder plugin for REDCINE-X PRO. The way this works is that, once you receive the REDRAY player, you will need to download REDCINE-X Build 19 or later (which has the plugin architecture available as a Menu option). When you open the Plugin panel, you will then be prompted to install the plugin via internet download. You simply log into your RED Store account, and it will show up there. It installs rather quickly, and you are ready to go. (It will now show up in the Export Settings as an option).

If you would like to install more licenses, the are $20 each in the RED Store:

Notice in the screenshots below the option for ODEMAX for digital rights managed encoding... :-) (you can also choose unrestricted)

OOOHHHHH YEAH. He he he, or muhahahaha -- whichever works. :)

Can't wait to see the first wave of content hit this digital shelf...and ultimately be projected in a theater near you.

Very cool!

Do you guys have a consumer version coming? With 4K TVs finally becoming affordable, you guys could take the world by storm if you get one out quickly!

That is as long as Odemex is ready soon.

That would be smart. Most consumers won't pay more for the player box than they did for the 4k TV set.

Casey, are you saying that we only get one license for the .RED encoder per player? Those of us who work on multiple machines have to buy additional licenses?

It was a surprise, I completely forgot I ordered one. hahaha Thanks Jarred and crew! Now I need a 4k TV or that projector you've been working on ASAP.

Hey.. some of you probably already got a surprise from your delivery guy today.. REDRAY has officially started to ship :)

Congratulation on this release.

Looking forward to see it popping up here and there...

Now make the same for the new projectors and we are in business :-)

The RR player looks wonderful on the 50" SEIKI. Be sure to tweak the SEIKI, sharpness off, try to adjust color, backlight down a bit... Oh, man I wish my 75" Samsung was 4K.... 1080P looks great until you put 4K beside it, then it looks like poo.

EDIT > REDRAY + SEIKI has sync issues... So not a good combo at the moment... :(

Wow incredible. Fantastic job Red Team!

I guess we dont have overly much use for it in Europe yet, but I'm sure we will have sexy Odemax here hopefully not too far away.
Cheers!

That SD/HD feeling all over again? ;-)

Has anyone had a chance to hook up their REDRAY to the Sony 4K ?

Just started a encode now with 4K Scarlet and Phantom 1080 source in the project.
Jarred any insight into how the encoder will shift in terms of data crunching.
Any more technical info on the encoder plugin ?
What encodes time are you seeing on the Z820s vs the Current Mac Pro ?

I wonder why so few seem to have been sent out? I thought they had beaucoup of these players built and waiting on ???... maybe this is tied to the first 100 ODEMAX channel subscribers?

High profile media folk got the first batch to help get the word out.
