  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Doh, of course - that makes sense now. Sometimes i forget the rest of the world isn't quite as insane with moving the clocks around...

Brent, sorry to double check. As a UK S-W queuer it sounds like in order to keep my timestamp that i should be emailing my UK Rep, but of course there will be no one around at this time, local time (i would assume).

Whereas when Red goes live it appears there will be a feeding frenzy of E-W that would exhaust any pre built stocks before the local Reps arrive for work the next day.

So in that case, from an overseas queuer what would be best thing to do be? Email our Red rep or hit the website (my S-W order shows on the website in my account part)

I won't confirm or deny that I worked VERY hard to wrap this 3 month international shoot so I could arrive in Los Angeles on the 11th of October.

Won't say a word about it :)

However, yeah. I'll be there. 2 flights in, two flights to go. Copenhagen is really cold and windy by the way.

The other option unique to MG owners is to to pay 15k to upgrade all the way to the top of the line Weapon Helium 8K ( the $49k camera )

Dragon owners will not be able to upgrade to Weapon MG after October 11th, so if Helium doesn't interest you, and that's the camera you really want, this is your time to get it.

If you have Epic Dragon, you are going to pay more to Upgrade straight to Epic-W than if you had a Weapon MG to Epic-W , and you don't get the great MG accessory package.





From the red store looks like Dragon owners can't upgrade to Weapon MG anymore, they aren't accepting the orders anymore. Thought we had until 10/11?

Thats a really good point. For us first time RED buyers - can anyone recommend a good insurance company if your in the UK?

Hi I all this might of been covered or will be tomorrow but I'm a little confused. as a scarlet w deposit holder who is upgrading from a scarlet D, if I would have received my camera upgrade already I would have got the discounted package ( monitor, io etc) but now if I'm correct if I upgrade to the epic w that will no longer be the case but for the people who already received their package they get to upgrade for the same cost and retain their accessories? Or is that not the case

Sorry this is all a bit complicated:)

That is the case. If you have your Scarlet-W from a packaged deal, in hand, you get to keep your accessories, and simply trade in your brain for an Epic-W brain.

If you don't have the camera, you forfeit the bundle you ordered, and are ordering an Epic-W body for 20k (1k already paid deposit, so 19k more), and buy accessories on top. They stated that it would be a logistics nightmare to make Epic-W bundles, with the people that are waiting for Scarlet-W bundles.

And please don't say "it's not fair". We are getting 10k off this amazing body. That is more than fair to me! (I'm a Scarlet-Dragon owner, current awaiting a Scarlet-W SD owner package)
 
And those who are switching from an S-W deposit only are first in line. Those with S-W cameras in hand are back of the line.

We cannot take “pre-orders” on something not for sale yet. Need to get in touch with your rep once we are live.

And, all, please remember your reps are human cannot physically handle 15 calls/emails/PM’s at the same time. First come, first serve.

We will do our best…
 
Oh, so it's the same price for those who received their camera as it for those who have been waiting and now you don't get the package deal as well, is that not a bit odd.

I guess it will make sense tomorrow

Still a better savings to get the epic-w. The accs equal maybe $5K if that... The SW to EW is 10K. I guess you have to figure out whats worth it to you. Theyre both really good deals in the end.
 
Can't wait to jump on after my shoot tomorrow and catch up on the awesomeness. Have fun everyone!

Looking forward to seeing the effects on S-W queue after everything goes down... and of course photos of these new cameras for those lucky enough to get their hands on them.
