  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ha, actually my day at RSH so I have Jarred's pink bear sitting at my desk in Irvine, keeping the seat warm. Literally.

Remember, as Jarred stated, the whole genesis of this program was how to address - and say "sorry and thanks for your patience" to the SCARLET-W deposit holders. These are people who don't have a camera right now, and - without offloading some demand from our SCARLET-W line to EPIC-W line - who would be in for a long haul.

From there, Jarred really wanted to give one last lifeline to the M-X folks (and even RED ONE MYSTERIUM) to jump to DSMC2 line of cameras. Trust me, if you want to move forward with upgrade paths after this Oct 11 round, you darn well better be in a DSMC2 camera. Cannot comment on what future offers might, or might not, be out there for each class of DSMC2 camera, of course, but come Oct 11, both DSMC1 and DSMC2 folks will have a chance to move up in weight class. Remember, even RAVEN just squeaked into the Oct 11 fold as you have always had opportunity to get into SCARLET-W....

If you have an eligible camera for an offer that currently exists, and you are pondering executing that, do it before Oct 11. As you can see, WEAPON Mg new cameras and upgrades are already off the table...

Come Oct 11, if you like the deal offered, again, jump on it. If we get huge swings in volume from one line of cameras to another (say, SCARLET-W to EPIC-W), we reserve the right to cut of any/all of the upgrades before our internally decided time. The demand will dictate it.

Lastly, please, do not make this a comparison game. "The guy who just ordered a SCARLET-W is getting a better deal than me" or whatever. Look at which path pertains to you and, to be frank, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. We are making it very clear that if this forum turns from a "half full" to "half empty" fest, we will shake our heads a little and pull the plug.

So, strap on your helmets and enjoy the ride on this one, folks.

I said this several pages back, but it was an edit in, so I wanted to be sure that you've seen it:


So I'll be "giving up" on my Scarlet-Dragon discount, but don't get me wrong, it's moving from one very generous offer to another very generous offer. I don't feel like I'm getting "screwed" at all, or 'entitled as I'm a SD owner. I would NEVER be able to afford an Epic-W without this path, so I'm very grateful, so thank you again!
 
Crossing my fingers there's going to be some VV 8K Dragon Updates coming on October 11th, that's the look I'm dying to see on the Dragon sensor.

All this Scarlet-W to Helium talk, I decided to pull the trigger on the CF Woven Upgrade Package. Using the Accessory Credit towards a Scarlet-W once the lines shift a bit might be an attractive option.

Brent, regarding about the SW to Epic-W 10K upgrade:So maybe If you sell a HUGE ammount within the first hours, are you going to stop it before the end if the day (11th)?Or will you let all the people benefit from it the whole day?
 
They have mentioned it's not a sustainable price, so quantities must be limited at some point in there... whether we hit it or not, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Hi guys, What do we know now about Epic-W frame rates? I saw 8K 30FPS, and I kinda remember something about 6K 75FPS....Is 5K 96FPS, 4K 120FPS? What about 7K?

S-W deposit holders are definitely first.

I think it will work on a timestamp basis. S-W and Raven deposit holders will carry over their timestamps, while new orders (inc DSMC1 upgraders) will get new timestamps from Oct 11th on. The grey area is those who did the DSMC1 to S-W upgrade path when the S-W was announced, since they were supposed to get a priority over people ordering S-W new at that point.

Glad I'm not the one who has to figure it out and be held accountable by the Reduser hoardes!
 
Looks like I'm out of touch...just received a call from my rep and found out I need to upgrade my Epic-X to Weapon MG before 10/11...but I'm confused.
Do I ship my Epic-X now to to get it upgraded to Weapon MG and then send it back again to upgrade to 8k or do I forgo my deposit and upgrade directly to 8k after the announcement (Is this the Epic-W?)

Sorry if these have been answered already, but Ive started reading the nearly 500 page thread and can't seem to find the answer...please help :)

Matthew great idea to setup the chatroom! haha. Lets us know the details so that all who want to can log in :)
