  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I assume you bought a 6k weapon with the 8k VV upgrade, if so we are going to put a 8k helium in your bodies if you want while you wait for your VV.

There will be three 8ks come october.. the VV Weapon 8k, the Epic-W and the Weapon 8k s35.

And someone's outside my yard with a chainsaw... betcha it's Brent cutting down my internet.

Wow. Epic-W is 8k. Mmmh. My Epic Dragon is at RED for the upgrade to Weapon MG. Now I don't know if I would not be more happy to get an Epic-W...

Wow, very interesting and great news, thanks! ... and I won't ask any further questions... Don't want Brent spending Saturday evening cutting cable wires;)
 
I truly, truly can't wait for you guys to experience 8K, whatever format you go with.

It's hard to shoot anything else once you've done it.

That said, with the Weapon Dragon 8K VV I'm rolling mostly 8K-6.5K for frame rates and occasionally going down to 5K for 96fps.

I'm greedy now though. I want to see 8K @ 120fps down the line. That would be insanity and a joy.

Hmmm, I figured crazy framerates would be the difference between Weapon 8K Helium and Epic-W. If even Weapon doesn't have the crazy framerates for 8K, I'm very curious what it's going to have that Epic-W doesn't...
 
Hi guys before moving to this offer I need to understand something.
If I cant deal with 8K fotage can I still record in all the format down to 2K pro res?
Is this 10,000 USD the final price or will become 10,000 GBP (which in this case will be a lot more....)
All the accessories, modules etc.ll will all be the same?
As owner of the SW do I need to send the body back (which has the standard olpf and the canon mount) to Red and then they will send me the new epic-w?

exact details on the camera and price for upgrade paths have not been announced.. its still a treasure hunt at the moment.. I would think there will be at LEAST 2k prores feature, Im thinking 4k prores but maybe im just dreaming @@. and yes the ability to record other codecs simultaneously is fkn amazing
