If it says orders placed today will be shipped in fall of 2016, either just about all January orders will be in by end of September, or there is absolutely no way orders in August are coming in by December.

Not totally sure what you're basing this on but if peak volume of orders are in Dec/Jan then it could take a good while to get through those, then the next 6-8months of orders could be knocked out quickly. This is all just guessing though...I don't have access to RED's PO lists nor inventory :)

All conjecture for sure, but if they can blast through Feb-Sept orders in the next 4 months, I would have to believe Dec/Jan would be taken care of within the next 6 - 8 weeks. At the very least mid October for all January orders.

I heard somewhere that just before NAB, Raven orders were more than 3 thousand. FWIW. Make a great camera that is affordable and you will sell 'em faster than you can make 'em.

So is the 4.7" LCD overheating a big enough issue that Movcam has developed an external cooling unit?

Its not a screen it´s a coffee heater with built in screen. Fold it down and put coffee cup on top, and adjust the hinge to keep cup leveled :)

From all the inferences from Jarred, and my timestamp vs allocation, I think its safe to assume you need to multiply that number (at least) by 3

Timestamp vs allocation doesn't necessarily mean more orders. From the looks of it, fulfillment numbers haven't been super high in the last few months... especially with Scarlet-W. In March/April it seemed like a ton of people were posting that they were being allocated and then it's been pretty quiet since.

What was the extra 3500?

What was the extra 3500?

SW allocated last week as I mentioned earlier (10/28/15 time stamp / Raven switcher). Camera arrives today. Got to say that my rep Kevin was great during the whole process. Always answered my calls and dealt with me debating switching between the SW and Raven a handful of times. Personally between Kevin & these forums it was a long but awesome experience.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a purchase. Can't wait to get to know this girl. I've shot 100s of 16 year old jersey girls partying like it's their wedding, baby products, weddings, hip hop videos, promos, & whatever.

But I believe it was all worth it for this girl. I'm thinking of naming her 'firebush'. Did I go too far? :)

One note: initially my plan was to finance the camera as the total interest pitched to me was about $1200. However the additional cost was about $3500 on the best plan when it came down to it and I have really good credit. Wound up getting no interest CCs instead since my workload allows me to pay it back by November anyway.

Now what to spend that $3500 on. Hmmmm.
Why did it come to 3500 in the end?

Whered you hear that
From a super high source. Believe it....3x that is wrong. You have to take into consideration RED's QC is beyond compare. And, they are a boutique camera company. Not Sony or Canon. They aren't cranking out hundreds or thousands of cameras a day....These are hand built to extremely precise specs. It is super hard to make shit.

Edit: Let me reiterate. Super high. Not Irvine.

gotcha thanks for the info. So the fact that we've seen SN#1300 go out means they're probably about Galway through the orders up to April despite them only being up to October 21st timestamps
