Hello Mike! My partner did all the original music and sound design. although this was done quickly because it is for private use, he did a great job. Do you need that sound? I can send it to you! he usually either makes it or combines it with plug ins and synths in PRO TOOLS

That would be awesome!! mikezorger@gmail.com

Thanks Alain!!

I get the impression the reps are not given a lot of info on the status of the pipeline. It kind of makes sense, as RDC wouldn't want one rep telling their roster one thing while another rep was characterizing the situation differently. Consistency, even if it's not the news we're hoping for, is still better than mixed messages...

Cheers - #19

december 2015 is definitely not "18 months ago". It was 8 months ago. Still a long wait, but you're adding nearly an entire year onto your count.

Oops, you're right. Bad math on my part. But yeah... it's still been a long wait. Hoping everything does ship in August!

At least they're making loaner cameras available. I don't know what it takes to get qualified for a loaner, though... I didn't really do much more than ask. There does seem to quite a queue for them.

I think you just need to be waiting for your RED for 20 months before you can get a loaner.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::emote_22_yikes::emote_22_yikes::emote_22_yikes::emote_22_yikes:

I'm going to pick my loaner up from the front desk of my apartment building this morning when they open up. And the loaner department said I get to have it until my Scarlet-W is allocated... So I'm pretty excited about this weekend's shoots now. My new ac/operator in training is going to be in for a bit of a surprise because she got started learning on a Cion just a couple of weeks ago... And that was her first time working on a film set behind the camera. :)

It's a good thing she's a quick learner!

Do they give loaners to anyone waiting now? Or you are early December? I am Jan.

When Jarred announced it, he said it was for early December preorders, but I don't know whether or not that's still the case. It sounded like the loaner program was only supposed to be for May, though that was probably related to the idea of shipping day 1 preorder cameras in June.

Wha? You get to keep it until you're allocated? So like for months? I just tried to get on the loaner list for an important shoot in October and he pretty much said it was unlikely.

True,
it´s getting little weird to just get pieces of general information thats not useful for anybody. New purchases still Fall? No Way. I´m starting to feel (hopefully for no reason) stalled. It would be fair to know whats going on because we´re all paid an x-amount of money and stand behind this company while waiting like schoolkids just for another words from RED. Your gear is amazing, the RED squad (I only know the former RED guys from germany) are awesome and professional. But the information philosophy could be better. Thats not a complaint thats just a comment from a customer. And now I´ll sit back and wait another 6 month patiently. :)

Understand the frustration. The problem is... the reality is that simple statement is as honest of a statement as I can make.

Making our sensors is not like making anything else. It is very volatile and very unpredictable. You can't rush the process or even worse things happen. When you make sensors as complex as ours ( nobody else does ) it is not abnormal to get an entire lot of sensors that are just not good enough.. and no matter how much you guys all yell at me I'm not going to lower our insanely high QC standards just to get more cameras out the door. And yes that applies to Raven's just as much as it does Scarlet-Ws all the way up to 8K VV Weapons.

we are shipping cameras... but not near the amount fast enough to make everyone happy.

Our demand is simply way way way over our supply. Things are getting better... and we have the Helium sensor coming up in new ovens way faster than we thought and that takes some pressure off everything else and makes more room for dragon sensors in production.

But I said it before... it is just a waiting game.

Like others said.. We are not the only game in town. There is much competition and other companies are slashing prices dramatically on their cinema cameras for whatever reason. If waiting for us to get out of our shitty hole is beyond your patience, it might be a good time for you to consider jumping onto something else.

We have learned to wait. I remember the problems after the big earthquake in Japan...

I am happy to upgrade my Epic Dragon to Weapon soon. But I am told that the process will take some time. I will send in my Cam end of August. I have no shooting in September...

Any official news about Helium?

My rep told me that it was unlikely as well, but that he'd put me in the queue and I might luck out. It is "only" a Scarlet-X, my guess is that it's a used one that someone sent in to upgrade or trade in or something. As the Scarlet-Ws go out, the loaners will be returning...

Jarred, where do I make the line for helium? :thumbup1:

Helium " officially " kicks off in October. But I do have a handful of special ones I have made for the brave.

I am not sure what happened to that last post but let me make something clear to the guy that just accused us of announcing things a year ahead of time to "bait" everyone. We have shipped our last 3 cameras exactly when we said we would start shipping them. Scarlet-W and Ravens and Weapons have been shipping for a long time now and started going out when we said they would.

Yes.. the line up is long and people have been waiting for way too long, longer than we imagined, but there is a big difference between announcing something ahead of time before it's complete and lying about when it will be ready vs. announcing something and shipping them and a delay be because demand is just being too far above what our supply chain can produce.

I'm not sure what happened to my post either, it probably has been deleted by a moderator who doesn't like another opinion... Jarred, I wasn't accusing you of lying, of course, neither of trashing the fantastic Red cameras. In fact it's more a matter of communication and perception. In my opinion, when you announce a camera, it must be available for purchase right away. In great quantities, of course. Announcing a shipping date of a new camera and ship it in 5-10 exemplars (it's hard to know, as no communication is made on quantities, like all the other companies, by the way) to be sure the shipping date is respected isn't very productive, in my opinion. But my opinion doesn't count, anyway. What I read on theses forums is a lot of deception and anger from some people who ordered a camera, that's all. And announcing a new Helium sensor meanwhile won't keep things calm for all these people.

I guess you never bought a black magic item, this is a walk in the park compared to that fiasco a couple years back

Your opinion does count... but I need to disagree with you. having an incredibly great product go out of stock soon after delivery starts isn't something new to us. It has been that way since business began... and has happened to every great product that I can think of for as long as I can think of.

As for the communication.. I would like to think that I give you guys more communication both the good news and bad news more than any other company. If the general consensus is that my communication is unwanted and useless.. Then I have no problem just stopping all together.
