  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SW is well worth the wait.. and yah umm no paint is falling off of mine >< been rocking it since feb.

jarred, helium into SW.. possible? maybe pull that special favor you promised me ? :blush:

Jarred, I thought you said you bought more ovens to help cranking out those sensors?
 
As someone who shoots music videos every week with a RED that I've been renting since January 1st when I placed my order for the Scarlet-W I've been dying for some sort of light in the darkness. Any hope to get an allocation soon?
 
Might it be possible to elaborate on the 8k helium Vs the 8k vista vision models outside of sensor size what tech specs are different and how? If helium is better than a larger cut of the dragon sensor in some obvious way I start to question which flavor of 8k I should really go for? Also if they truly will be on the market sooner due to low yields of the 8k vista visions that also seems encouraging since I am near last of the line for vista upgrades I'd guess and expect to wait essentially the longest among early adopters. Which is fine but with three flavors of 8k coming not including monochromes I really wonder which ones matter most to me from a functionality stand point? I also hope if MX guys can upgrade that epic dragons can? Thanks
 
someone has received his red scarlet-w? (package order and not switch from Raven) my order Feb 2016, my red bomb said I will allocate probably on fall.(hope 2016)
But fall is another damn long period of time.
 
I wonder what Red's current sell thru rate is from pre-order to purchase. With these heavy delays I imagine at least a 15% loss already, which will increase the longer the wait grows while pre-customers just get over it.

If you can wait, its gonna be a long time waiting, but I truly believe the Red camera offers are by far the best out there, really amazing pieces of gear, so stick with it if you can guys.

Same here (early Feb 2016). There is a huge amount of first day Scarlet-W orders, that will probably take a month or two to get through. And we're not even near it and it looks like there were no allocations at all.

I would say: take the time when they start shipping first day orders (nobody knows when this will happen), and add at least +2 months of time till they reach Feb 2016 orders.

Note: I'm just guessing here.
Note 2: let's hope an August update (next week?) will have some info.
 
Yeah, I hope we get some kind of idea. I've had my order in from January 1st. Since April, my rep keeps pushing it out another month and another month.

I'm not griping or complaining here. I can be patient and understanding. I know they are working hard, I know they've made an amazing product (have been and will continue to), I know they are trying to get them out as fast as they can without sacrifice to quality.

I just humbly ask that we get a little more clear cut definition for our expectations.

I would be more than happy to accept that my order will not be realistically filled until next year, if that's the case.

Yes, we aren't suppose to schedule productions around equipment, but we also can't be indefinite with when we can start implementing this investment into our work.

I just want a little more clear idea, not crying,, "gimme gimme."

Totally echo this myself. Hoping that they've been able to nail down some things and can give more accurate expectations soon. I'd imagine there's nothing more in the world they'd like to do than let us know when we'll be getting our cameras (and them collecting full payment :).
 
To me it feels like they don't care if we stay in line or go. As J. said, "if you have to go we understand". It's like either way we are good, because there is so many and actually it might help off load the demand. so see ya! (He didn't say that of course but that's how it felt when I read it)

How about how many are coming and who should be allocated even if it's a ballpark. I'll patiently wait but a little more clarity would be great. New purchases still say Fall delivery. How about telling us by December 1st everyone should have cameras and Happy Holidays:)

True,
it´s getting little weird to just get pieces of general information thats not useful for anybody. New purchases still Fall? No Way. I´m starting to feel (hopefully for no reason) stalled. It would be fair to know whats going on because we´re all paid an x-amount of money and stand behind this company while waiting like schoolkids just for another words from RED. Your gear is amazing, the RED squad (I only know the former RED guys from germany) are awesome and professional. But the information philosophy could be better. Thats not a complaint thats just a comment from a customer. And now I´ll sit back and wait another 6 month patiently. :)
 
Any update on the RV Expander module???

I placed my order for two on 12/14/2015. That's over 18 months ago.

No notification yet. Has anyone taken delivery?

I mean, honestly December 20th (last day of fall) is far off...just under 5 months away. It seems entirely possible that orders placed today would be out of the queue by Dec 20 because the way production ramps up when the kinks are out. Could also be super wrong here, but wanting to keep a good handle on what Fall means.

Good stuff there Alain. Loved the accident scene...images from that scene looked the most organic to me. Nice job!
 
Just had my Raven allocated. I'm a 9/29/15 - 12:12 PM pre-order so allocations are starting to pick up now. I know a lot of you are waiting for Scarlet-W allocations but at least we see some movement!

Alain, where did you get the sound for the light turning on? I've always wanted to use audio / sounds like that but have never really been successful when searching.
