  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

so what's the deal? I just got allocated a Scarlet W package from CVP ? What's the deal with swaps if you ordered of the likes of CVP ? I am really interested in the EPIC W

It is no mistake that at 6K on Epic-W that crop is pretty much the exact same size of APS-C ( 22.4mm wide ) , and that is where most other S35 cameras sit within a mm or so for comparison.

6K crop puts you right exactly back where ALL your S35mm lenses will fit... which is kinda the whole point.

And yes Andy you can have your 50FPS.

The Epic-W can hit 75 fps at 6K FF (6144 x 3240) , 100 fps at 6K WS (6144 x 2592)

Was that me that asked for 1/2 res REDCODE? Pretty sure that was someone else. Or I was drunk? Overly tired? My acct. was hacked? *thinks of more excuses*

Seriously, you guys think of everything. I'll quit armchair engineering now and focus on shooting... :)

I don't think they would have caught any flack for not offering it, especially not from me. I've been able to get 8 solid years of use out of this camera. RED owes me nothing.

99% sure you have to turn in the camera you're upgrading from.

Enjoy your camera. If you want to upgrade to Epic-W, throw down the deposit on October 11th and just wait till your upgrade number gets called and you send in your SW and the remaining balance and we swap your S-W with a Epic-W. Easy peezy.

jarred: i just got allocated for my woven upgrade (from epic-d). can i add the WPN-Helium upgrade cost (after 10/11 of course) and execute both upgrades while my camera is in irvine?

Yes, you can. We have some Helium Weapons already built so depends how quick you are on the 11th you could get it that same day.

But remember.. this whole thing is happening for the Scarlet-W customers that are waiting still so they will take priority on the lines for the first few weeks so if you do miss that first batch you might be waiting a lil till we can get you sorted.

If you have any MX [or prior] camera you can get the Epic-W for $19500. No mention of whether you keep your camera or not.
The Epic-W brand new will be 30K. So you get a 10k discount and then buy accessories.

Very generous from RED but also a nice bump in sales for their DMSC 2 accessories. As my father used to say the best relationship is where both parties feel like they are getting the better deal.

As outsiders who rent RED cameras it also gives us further pause when considering ownership. The philosophy of reusing is becoming more of a priority these days.

So do these start shipping immediately after the 11th? Or has the ship date not been announced
 
I went from checking this thread once a day, to twice a day, to every couple of hours.

So much information! And friendly people. And interesting questions. And helpful feedback and opinions. I like it here.

What does priority look like for us Forged Carbon Weapon owners? I want to get that sensor in my camera...
