The Secret re: M3 port/threads

I'm sure everyone has seen them on the DSMC2 bodies.
Sometime last year (from what I researched), Jarred said that "it is a secret."
Well, NAB 2016 has come and gone, 2 seasons later... I'm still wondering, as I'm sure many are...

How long is the secret going to be kept?

I have no idea what they plan is for them but i'm sure there is something planned. We may never know though, there were contacts on the bottom of the side handle of the Epic since it came out but nothing ever came of that.

However, now that DSMC2 is almost fully open to third parties maybe somebody will make something for it. They are already going nuts on the other side.

and i saw them on the new panavision DXL!
must be there for a reason.

Was it ever revealed whats for?
I only ask because I got the SmallRig Cage and for the left side they use the M3 holes. Just want to make sure its safe.
