The RED one was released 4 years ago. You could upgrade (and still can) a RED ONE to RED ONE M-X.

The RED ONE M-X was used to shoot "The Social Network", which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography in 2010. It was used on Pirates 4 which has grossed over $1B worldwide. It was used on "Contagion". It is being used on "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".

The RED ONE M-X is current. It is historic. It is a camera that continues to have value. You can shoot "greatness" today on a RED ONE M-X.

Yeah, if anyone finds themselves neglecting their R1 after taking delivery of their EPIC-X, just give me a call, I'd love to keep it company for you.

I took delivery of mine 2 years ago Tuesday (perhaps not calender wise, but day after Labor Day....

After my marriage to my dear Olya, having our 3rd child, the Red 1 #6732 was the best decision. Well, the first 2 daughters perhaps rated a little higher than the Red, but still......

Where in the Puget Sound are you?

Jim

I LOVE my RED One. It's an awesome camera and I'm happy that I bought it!

The images that I get are better than anything I've gotten before.

Brilliant camera that only improved...and continues to live on.

Agreed, Austin...should anyone ever find that they just aren't using their R1 anymore...

We love the RED ONE and will continue to support it like a Queen.

Jim

Jim, are you going to keep developing and improving the R1?

If all I had to shoot with in the next 5 years was our MX would still be a happy camper.

Here here. The RED ONE single handedly pays 1/2 our bills EVERY month. with the SSD upgrade its so BAD ASS. Indies LOVE the Red One and we are so excited to be kicking the 5D's ass with her on Indie features.

I am NEVER selling my R1 because its still the 2nd best digital cinema camera in the world imho

Ive had my Red MX for 3.5 years now. 2nd best decision I ever made! The BEST decision I ever made was upgrading to MX. That increased my clientele 10-fold and gave me a brand new camera. I've never owned something that has literally opened doors for me. It's also made me a far more capable shooter and director. I remember when I put $1000 down while everyone else was calling it a SCAM. Now all those same guys are trying their hardest to be apart of the club. I also love how this is an American company and just like Jim, I've been obsessed with cameras my whole life. When I was 14, I lied about my age to work at Dairy Queen so I could save my pennies to buy my first Hi-8 camera. All of my freshman friends made fun of me for NOT buying a cool new car so I could bird dog chicks... But whose laughing now! Red 4 Lyfe. Ship me my XXX so I can make my Red One jealous already

These are exciting times to be an image maker...
