I remember when the Scarlet came out people got together to figure out relatively where we were all at in the queue. I know you can get the timestamp from your bomb squad rep, if we all posted these we could all get an idea of where we are at with the wait. Thoughts?

Wouldn't it take a few people knowing their number in the queue first in order for us to determine a reference point?

On a related note, this gives me a chance to ask about the Feb fulfillment date. I realize Red has had problems meeting scheduled delivery dates in the past, but the Weapon body and Dragon sensor already exist. I expect that will mean far less R&D necessary to finalize the product. Based on this, what should we expect in terms of the Feb delivery date? How was fulfillment of Weapon orders been going, and were they timely?

In short, can Red actually meet the proposed Feb date, or should we expect delays?

red normally delivers when they say they will.

I can remember the night I ordered the Red Epic. We needed it at a certain date to begin my first feature..It was up to the wire but red delivered THE DAY BEFORE the production started hehe.. was amazing

That's presuming there's a wait... Red's really gotten their act together in the last little while. They ship on time.

I suspect Raven production will begin soon if it already hasn't; there may be stacks of cameras ready to go out come Feb.

this happens all over again every time, but they are getting better. US customers start to get theirs first usually and then everyone else with few weeks behind...

I'm curious about our place in line, as well. I still remember the wait for the One. . . and the dreaded "manufacturing hold" that so many of us fretted through. As it was, we bought someone's place in line to shoot our first feature and, I'm NOT making this up, the camera we ordered literally showed up on our door step the VERY LAST DAY of shooting!

well apprently it went live at 9:30pm thursday night, my order went through at 9:47pm, that's all they could tell me, except they assured me id have the brain in feb. i wonder what the "hold up" part is that the pkg wont deliver until march? probably the i/o? since the monitor and mags are needed for the weapon that should deliver next month to most.

The brain is listed as shipping Fed, and the I/O in Mar. As such the I/O package is set to shit in Mar.

I held out and got just the brain, as A) There still aren't many details on what this I/O entails (assuming its the base expander with V-lock, but for all I know it could be lacking HDMI or have XLR or something, and B) I'd rather have the brain in Feb, although I have no idea how I'll power it in the meantime. lol

Brent or others: the question I haven’t heard answered yet is, “if you order the camera in any form (say brain only) and then decide to change to a different package, do you still maintain your place in the queue?”

thats why it took me 17 minutes to decide on the brain only, scouring the whole red site to see what the i/o even was…weird that with no details or pictures or anything that it was included in a pkg you had to blindly put a deposit on. once i saw it didnt exist i went with brain only. but you can power it with AC in feb! i figure to do tests all we need is some minimags and the 4.7 in touch…then figure out how to output video and battery power it.

Pretty sure you need the module to connect with AC as well.

But I am interested about where I am in the queue. Looks like I got my order for brain only in at 12:24. I wanted to look at the final specs and figure out a few numbers as to which was the best way to go for me before pulling the trigger. Once I was ready I got stuck in the website jam for about 45 mins until I got my order in.

According to my Bomb squad rep: If I wanted to switch to a different package, I'd have to cancel my deposit and put down a new deposit.

"If you wanted to switch to a RAVEN Package instead, you certainly could, however, as you mentioned the current order would need to be cancelled and then a new deposit placed."

I think that means you lose your place.

Seems pretty ridiculous considering there were absolutely no details outlining the specifics of some of the related package modules (there still aren't), not to mention the earlier statements that new modules would be announced in the coming weeks. Hell, we don't even know the prices of some of the included components, so there's no way to even estimate the savings. There's also a third package being created soon.

That being said, it's pretty tough to really care given that there's no way of knowing the value of savings from purchasing a package. If it turns out to be substantial, then I'll be rather upset. Until then, I'm more than happy to wait to see what other modules get announced.

I think we can put the emphasis on those 3 words : "in the past"...

posted today on reduser :

Unfortunately, I regret to inform all of you wonderful customers that have been waiting patiently for your Woven Carbon Weapon Dragons that we will not be able to start shipping them next week like we originally planned.

Shipping begins tomorrow.

:)
