  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The List - Please maintain

Sometimes it is hard to say anything in this forum without looking like a complaining douche :) I'll try to reserve myself from simple opinions that are taken too literally. Anyway good luck to everyone who may get a RED highlight on the list today.

heh...this is REDUser...opinions will clash...

Though I do get where your coming from, its nice of RED, frustrating for the others but like what's been pointed out...the late order placements are due to individuals being from companies and requiring a lot of things filled in...
Individuals though I would think and hope they put their orders in on the day...

HOWEVER, if it makes the wait any better, its been said that the first hour cams will be delivered hopefully by Christmas, maybe before end of 2011? Problem is knowing what counts as 'first hour' since it seems majority of web orders started at 8pm and phone orders from 7 onwards...

972 wasn't at the event, its colored in green...is this the start of non-event people?

I ordered a side handle on 10-3, one month early, and it just shipped. Good thing since I wont get a touch screen until my stage 3 comes up. Next my Scarlet.... Very soon now.

No I think it's just the start of people who think an email confirmation means "contact from RED" not its intended meaning of "contacted for allocation".
I have three different orders going, I did green based on being contacted, but I have no idea on when the single scarlet order will happen. Really I have no idea when my other orders will happen either, I think the scarlet rush has overloaded everyone, and "normal" orders seem to be delayed a bit too. You can "ungreen" my line if you want.

btw ... my rep is very responsive ... so I think that is a good sign that things are getting under control. [update ... my rep said that my other orders will occur with the scarlet order ships, which is fine by me ... since all my normal process is camera's are rented/or/owned by the dp]

when you say contacted, do you mean allocated or contacted for a deposit etc.

My Scarlet has shipped!

I am going to guess that you were not at the 300 event ... but you ordered a PL mount ... and your SO# is north of 1000?

Am I close?

Thanks! Very excited. Scarlet tomorrow, side handle on Thursday.

No, I was not at the event. My so is 1035, PL. I ordered most of the parts early for my stage 3 epic. Good timing on the side handle. It left today in a different box, 2 day. My camera is overnight. I just realized I didn't have a revolt charger. I was holding out for a multicharger. Just ordered a travel unit. Bricks until it shows up. I can't wait to have a small setup option.

Haven't heard much regarding AL mount Scarlets. Sounds like the AL mount might be in tight supply.

I was thinking the same thing, lots of PL Versions going out, they have been through the "300" for those for a bit now. I'm decently high on the list and was at the event, but ordered the Canon Version. Still no word. Waiting patiently though and getting excited.

I really don't understand why RED is so secretive about ship dates. They must have some idea of what people ordered, and their capacity. Why wouldn't they give us more information? Is this the way RED typically operates?

YUP, look at those who have executed the upgrades for the RED ONE or the Bomb EVF or even the Canon mounts. People have been waiting MONTHS...were waiting weeks. As was posted earlier
Low overhead = low price passed to consumer. The more Red Employees equates to quicker delivery dates, but when orders slow down there becomes a point at which you have over extended cost:benefit ratio.

My Director of Marketing has labelled it the "Dream Camera" since i've been mentioning it for over a year and it wasn't released.
