  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Hobbit...

What lenses does Peter Jackson have on this setup? Does anybody know?

I think that if Red Pro Primes are not fast in off for this project, will go again with Master Primes, especially so
now with the new Wide Angle 12mm, and the new Zooms 18-80 and 45-250 both 2.6, even so this new Zooms are not Zeiss but Arri/Fujinon.

Unless off course PJ gets all of the available Leica Summilux-C sets from Otto ;)

I'm looking forward to the announcement of which 3d rig he is using.

The choices for PJ are really limited as what real professional S3D rigs are out there for the Epic.

I have talked and meet up with the guys over at ET for the new Pulsar plus the few added elements needed to
work with the Epic cameras, as well as with the guys over at 3Ality for their TS-5, really a great rig as well,
just much more complex in its capacity as it comes with a Laptop and Cotroll surface, carried by a License, to
allow for a wider control via the Proprietary software.

Then off course there is Pace systems ;)

So this are RED zooms? The RED 18-50mm T3 ZOOM (I): or the RED 50-150mm T3 ZOOM (I): ?

Need picture and copyright (Urgent)

Hi,

I'd like to use the "Peter Jackson holding an Red Epic" Picture for a magazine. I need a high-def picture and the copyright.

Movie Creation is a french paper magazine about filmmaking, edited by Oracom company (3D Mag, Advanced Creation, Digital Artist, etc). I'm working on an article about this great annoucement for the news section. We are finishing the latest issue (deadline = monday).

Thanks,

Raphaël Carlier - Movie Creation

We do not have a hi-res copy of this shot nor are we in a position to grant rights to use it.

Wow.

And I just found my 10 year old copy of the LOTR trilogy and the Hobbit. Great timing!

Can't help but feel wrecked though as my bosses decided to go with the Sony XDCams (considered blasphemy on Reduser, perhaps?) for field production next year. I might convince them otherwise once they realize they'll save a boatload of import taxes if I can sneak some Epic's into Honduras by passing them off as fancy DSLR's...which they are of course. REALLY FANCY.

Boy would it suck if someone from Honduran customs browses Reduser.

Thanks for the answer. Do you have an e-mail where I'll be able to join them ? (the phone line is, well, expensive !)

Raphaël.

Congratulations Jim and Team. It's still funny though, the nay sayers who 3+ years ago were saying it's a scam. We've all held the faith. RE: "Favourite Book... best Camera" yup it's truly exciting and we're excited for you as well as PJ. Can hardly wait to own one! --- "Scam or no!"
