Canon EF 24-105/4L IS USM Lens

Does it work flawlessly?

By the way, which other lenses would you recommend I purchase for Birger?

I've heard differing reports on whether it holds focus throughout the zoom range (parfocal) on still bodies. I'm eager to hear how it is on the Birger mount as well...

The imager in a Red One is basically the same size as the Canon APS-C imager.
To get the best results focus on primes:

Canon 10-22mm F/3.5~4.5 or Tokina 11-16mm
Canon 28mm f/1.8
Canon 35mm f/1.4L
Canon 50mm f/1.2L
Canon 85mm F/1.8

Currently, no manufacturers are making very wide primes specifically for the APS-C cameras, and they probably won't. This is why the widest affordable solution is a zoom, (they are willing to make the zoom to sell cameras).

The 50mm F/1.4 makes a beautiful image but is has mechanical issues that make the image move a little when there is a directional change racking focus. The 28mm F/2.8 and the 35mm F/2 are very old designs and are in need up replacement by Canon.

You will also need a matte box that can swing away and adjust to different lens diameters quickly. I like the Redrock for this.

I don't have the 24-105 but I have the 16-35 L wide zoom. Until the inner ring upgrade is complete, it doesn't work flawlessly for me. I can't focus properly until about 22mm. This should all be corrected with the inner ring change. Coming very soon.

As soon as I get my Birger installed I'll try it out for certain. I have the EOS 5dMkII and got the kit with this lens. Looks great on the MKII, nice and sharp, but I prefer internal focus lenses.
