  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ER on RED...

I hate living in the UK sometimes. All the hire facilities I've spoken to here say "don't shoot RED, it's too difficult, the HDD crashes all the time, editing is impossible..." When Hollywood is shooting regularly on RED, I can only presume nobody over here has a clue what they're doing with it...

Jim,

Congrats to you & your team !

Tim,

Let me know If I can help your clients understand the best use of the Red camera. I have been able to help many US based Broadcasters understand this new technology and I love being a Red enthusiast!

Robert Keslow tells me that the Lightweight Support is a big hit with the crew on ER. They were looking for a way to make their RED rigs lighter and more compact for Steadicam and hand held use, and sketched out a solution. Robert saw that what they had drawn was similar to our support and got them two units to their set overnight. It was a welcome surprise, big hugs all around.

Might not seem like much, but if you can take pounds off your RED set up, on a Steadicam heavy show like the brilliant ER, it could make a huge difference.

Thanks to Robert and his gang and Keslow Camera.

EXCELLENT! CONGRATS! Very good news! Does anyone know what glass there going to use?

Eeh... ER? Maybe a stupid question - what is ER?

It stands for Echo Response. It's a show about a machine that gets Pinged over and over again. It got a bit boring in season 7 and I stopped watching, apparently it jumped the shark in season 9 when they made an episode where multiple packets caused the machine to crash.

It has timed out now I believe.

Good thing the show was cancelled... I heard season 10 was going to make the transition into a reality show. They were going to install a new firewall and lock a bunch of geeks into a high-school gymnasium with no food or water. Only a terminal and a hungry tiger. The doors wouldn't open until one of the geeks successfully got the proper ping response by cracking the firewall.

Also shot on RED

Also shot on RED

That new movie Coraline (stop go animation) was shot on RED, a Nikon and a Princeton Instruments MegaPlus according to Feb issue of American Cinematographer.

ASC has been wrong before so your probably right.

I watched tonight's' episode and it looked very good. It's amazing how you can actually recognize RED footage after you become familiar with it, specially indoor footage. external footage is much harder to pick-out.

?

If I'm not mistaken, the RED episodes have not yet aired...
