  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Gates's Extension Knobs really feel good at hand and offer a great grip/precision, even with thick gloves.

Gates reached shortly after I posted, but I'm also going the DIY route. Only I'm going to try a couple of my own ideas over the summer, when gloves arn't really needed. Thinking something similar to the wheel on a lathe with the little handle on it.

Nauticam W-LT housing for RED DSMC2 cameras (Epic-W, Gemini, Helium, Monstro) for sale. One year old, the kit shows minimal wear - almost like new. Dome and extension rings are not included, but can be sold as part of the kit. Comes with either extended battery back or monitor back (buyer's choice). Also selling housing for RED Touch 4,7" monitor and some gear rings for Canon optics.
Price new is €10,500 excl. VAT for basic kit, serious offers welcome. Price range €7,500 - 10.000 depending on items bought together. Note: Sold without VAT since exporting from outside EU (Norway).

Anyone using the ARRI Alura 15.5-45mm f/T2.8 Wide-Angle Zoom with LDS or similar underwater? Looking for feedback on practical and coverage
with Dragon 6k - 8K sensor as well as all other visual quality of this glass.

Hi Mauricio,

I can't say this is true of the 15.5-45, but other Fujinon lenses we've tested have an interesting behavior. That is, while they focus behind an 8 or 10" dome, the minimum focus distance underwater is several feet away. We do have one field report from Asia that says this lens works well with a 10" dome port. Bottom line: if you go this way, test it first.

Alternatives: We publish a list of recommended lenses. Page two shows several PL mount cinema zooms. All are great, and suggest a 10" dome be used with them. https://www.gateshousings.com/wp-co...ecommended-Lenses-for-Flat-and-Dome-Ports.pdf

Has anyone tried the new ultra bright 7" for underwater housing, especially the Nauticam house. We are planning to upgrade to the ultra bright but of course need it to work the underwater house. I know it is a bit thicker so may not fit the old housing.

I had forgotten about it but actually I do; one H2O & one Low Light DSMC OLPF.
I have other DSMC accessories too like side handles, RED MAGS, MAG readers, BOMB EVF, Tactical gear... I should make a complete list :

PS: it's amazing how much smaller the DSMC OLPFs are, especially compared to MONSTRO!

Selling my Nauticam DCES housing for RED Epic/Scarlet/Dragon DSMC1 cameras. It includes the housing, vacuum leak alert system from backscatter, a brand new vacuum valve, the 8.5 inch Nauticam acryllic port in great condition (no scuffs or scratches on the dome!) with original neoprene protective cover , Nauticam N120 Extension Ring 20 with lock, M20 balls for mounting lights, and including the tokina 10-17mm EF mount lens with the nauticam focus and zoom gears to go with it. Assuming you have the camera, this is the entire kit to get you shooting! Asking $4700 or best offer. Buyer pays shipping and any fees. Willing to negotiate as I'd like to sell this soon.

FOR SALE:
Nauticam underwater housing for DSMC2 PL mount optics - mint condition

Rare Nauticam underwater housing for RED DSMC2 cameras, with full FIZ gearing for manual or remote control operation. Works with most PL mount prime lenses and compact zooms with 0.8 gearing in a standard manual control configuration, or with Arri CForce Mini servos via surface cable, or used with DSLR lenses also remote via FoolControl over Gig-E cable. This housing pretty much covers any RED DSMC2 setup, and is amazingly well balanced and stable in the water.

This housing is a fairly rare item, only a handful have been made by Nauticam and is not listed on their website or elsewhere. No idea why, it's an excellent piece of equipment!

This housing has been used very little so it is like new (bought in September 2019). The flat port and N120 adapter have never been used. The RED Touch 4‚7"monitor housing is from Sep. 2018 and has also seen very little use. Reason for selling: Switching to Alexa Mini LF.

Please contact me for pricing info. Monitor housing sold separately, but other items preferably sold together as a complete kit.
(price range when new: $20.000 - 25.000, depending on items)
