  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The difference between a DIT, AC, DAM on set, and do i need them?

First question do you own a red?

That's just impractical. Chances are the people who own cameras have better things to do.

It's all going to depend on the role in the production - for a data wrangler they don't necessarily even know how to use the RED at all. They need only to understand the way the files are stored, what information is important and how best to manage that data.

Personally I don't really know my way around the RED menus all that well (although I know mostly what I'm looking for, and can find it pretty easily) - but I do know the data structure well.

How much do you fairly pay a DIT?

It's all depend on what the DIT can do base on real world experience experience.

Some DIT in my opinion are not even worth $80 a day. Because they learn on your dime.

The Original 6 "RedNinja" 4Kninjas are worth $600+, I don't know who came on board later.

the bottom line is any one can compete on price, but what are you paying for? Would you pay a bum $5 to be your DIT?

Consider the cost of hiring the wrong person.

How much is one productions day cost? At the end of the day all you have is the footage.

If you don't care about reshoot, then hire a DIT ---Dabbling Idiot Tech---.

I'd rather not do reshoot. Hire a DIT.

We should compete on quality and services not price.

I still believe you have to own one to know one. ?"REDONE"?

Hihihi
