  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Tell Apple you want R3D native support for FCPX!!!

Don't pick on FCP X Joseph. I have been editing for 25 years. It's a very good piece of software out of the gate.

Trust me on this one.

It's powerful...

It's not at all like to you to threadjack... :)

David

Thanks, David. I couldn't agree more. FCP-X, despite it's weaknesses now, IMO, will grow to be a killer app.

(And it's not likely to take as long as some folks think.)

Apple needs to be told to support .r3d ?

Because some people like that standards are being thought over, tried to revolutionize, and made affordable. At the beginning of the first version of final cut a lot of people had the same reaction until it was being upgraded some. Then a lot of people jumped aboard. Now history seems to repeat itself. We will see what happens in the future.

Done.

I also don't see it being a bad thing to learn the other NLE systems out there. I am finding that I am using Premier Pro and AVID depending on the client and the workflow. Having a rounded knowledge of the three systems is no bad thing and lets you make informed decisions of the best workflow. I bought the PP and AVID cross grade offers when they where available and each has pro's and cons.

Fully support trying to get native R3D support in FCPX.

:))

Apple supposedly created an FCP X camera plug-in SDK for all camera manufacturers. I presume RED has these specs. The plug-in API may or may not support RAW files natively - or at least, might not do more than L&T did under FCP 7. I doubt Apple will go above and beyond the SDK. Has RED mentioned anything more about this? Seems like the ball is in their court, not Apple's. That is, of course, assuming the SDK has actually been made available to developers.

Yes, Red has previously posted to the effect that the SDK does not solve the problem and that the ball is in Apple's court. Apple's response was: "", as it is on so many things.
