  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Tell Apple you want R3D native support for FCPX!!!

Maybe apple is watching this thread.

Maybe RED is also watching this thread.

Maybe this leads to a wonderful making up scene between the two. I hope.

At least we are trying.

I like this attitude. Never lose hope!

Why bother, most of us have seen the light and now use Avid.

Why are you attempting to turn this into a debate? Please respect Redusers who use FCP X, the way I respect your choice of using AVID.

Five years ago, where was AVID with RED? AVID users came on here and respectfully asked. That is what is going on now.

Any what is your post doing? Calling us all assholes? Cuz that is how I take it.

this thread got over 2000 viewers, and yet only about 60 of us have posted "done"

I filled out a feedback request when the thread opened a few days ago but didn't bother
to actually confirm it here. I imagine others did the same.

FCPX is the 2nd top grossing program in Apple's app store (after OS X Lion) and there is a cottage industry of tutorials and plug ins picking up where FCP 7 left off.

Despite the missteps Apple made in rolling FCPX out, it is quite relevant.

More importantly, after sitting down and digging into the program I can see where I can work much faster than any other editor I ever worked with (including Avid though I still plan to get a copy of that when I can).
Intelligently designed interfaces can do wonders for your productivity.

I truly hope Red and Apple can come together again to make some good things happen.

If Apple's watching, many people want to see this product grow so please improve your relations
with the user and developer community surrounding the new FCPX suite. As much as I like Apple
this can sometimes be a shaky area.

I didn't know Apple did customer requests

Hi David,
I do agree with you. A lot of people don't realize the full potential of FCP X. it's really powerful and this is just a beginning!
Requires learning and practice but it is outstanding piece of software.

I already submitted mine, but really guys.....I'm thinking it's time to move on. I'm an FCP editor of ten years and I think this ship has sailed. I see more and more people adopting Premiere Pro and Avid lately. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with Smoke? I've been trying to learn it more in my (non-existent) free-time.
