Taylor Swift - Wildest Dreams - Shot on RED WEAPON by Christopher Probst

Beautiful work Chris - thanks for the inspiration you bring to our craft repeatedly.

Was this one a Weapon shoot? And if so, did it have any significant impact on workflow?

I remember you outlining how you guys were cutting onset from the video feed in Bad Blood, was it a similar process for this one?

Chris Probst is a genius! Why, well, because I LOVE his cinematography. It's so great it hurts.

Was the male lead the son of Clint Eastwood?

Very nice, I particularly loved the Airplane aerials, Although I think that a couple of those might have been FX shots. Actually I saw a lot of VFX that looked really good.

By far the best Swift/Khan/Probsts collaboration to date in my opinion in terms of direction, cinematography, story, music and acting. Anxiously waiting for C. Probst to chime in.

Oh my god that was good.

Taylor easily fits right into the period "look."
Couple that with the song, which I really like, and Christopher's cinematography, and it's win, win, win all around.
Not only that, Taylor made my day a while ago by getting Apple to pay artists for streams during their free Apple stream period.
That means that if anybody streamed my music, I would get paid, too.
Then to top it off, I just had to stop the video on the shots of the Mitchell Standard camera. Nostalgia.

I'm really happy to be able to say that Christopher Probst shot this awesome Taylor Swift video using our KipperTie custom diffusion OLPFs.

He and I had serendipitous timing; just as the first OLPF units were ready I was over in LA teaching Reducation, so I was able to hand deliver some filters to get him what he needed.
As the OLPF spec for Weapon is different Jarred then pulled out the stops and made some special parts to fit the Epic parts to the Weapon.

Christopher tells me he primarily used the Carbon 1 STH for daylight scenes, and the Carbon 1 and Pearl 1 LLO for the night shots. Lenses were his own custom work as I understand it, no details there I'm afraid.

I couldn't have asked for a better vindication of our little products - its a beautiful piece of cinematography :)

Great work as usual! Congrats to Christopher, Joseph, Jarred, RED, and everyone involved.

Did I just see a music video shot in 8k?
All Chris stuff is smacking excellent. But there was something with the imagery of this one that was even more excellenter than normal, me want to think the difference was 2 extra k´s behind the lens :)

Edit: I guess not, just read john Marchant´s post "KipperTie custom diffusion OLPF". And I´m guessing those does are not made to cover the 8k sensor just yet. It´looks nice filtered but that does not explain the dof / fall off curious then what lenses.

Björn, Chris may have shot 6K 4:3 anamorphic though - which effectively debayers to something close to 7.5K I believe (from what I remember Chris saying about Bad Blood).

So you're eyes may not be deceiving you!!!

John, all I can say is...a million congrats. For years now, you've been pushing the RED community to re-imagine what's possible with these cameras. I can't think of a more fitting triumph - and testament to your hard work, and conviction - than Chris and Joseph's STUNNING new music video.

You deserve ALL the success coming your way.

best.
