  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Taylor Swift " Bad Blood " shot on Weapon by Christopher Probst

I personally think this video is MIND BLOWING. And as good visually as the biggest tent poles in Hollywood.

Can't wait for Chris and Joseph to start doing massive blockbuster features. That's clearly their next step. They have nothing more to prove in this medium.

...so...anyway....

Chris, how long would you say you are in prepro from the conception of the idea. I'm really interested in how you both formulate your ideas into solidity...and how long that takes...and how many cooks are in the kitchen...ect.

Im sure youre super busy. Thanks for offering what you have already.

Eye for an eye and the world goes blind.
Even on reduser.

There are differences between harsh words or even being rude and a physical threat. Crossing that barrier is a no fly zone.

And yes. I'm all for free speech, but this public web forum is run and owned by a private entity. Sling mud elsewhere. This isn't the place for it.

I've learnt so much from watching this video, hearing the stories and seeing the still clips that it literally inspires me to push harder to be creative! Great work does that. Thank you Chris for sharing and for giving all of us such an exclusive glimpse and possible high calibre accomplishments!!

Yeah...my guess is Chris is always trying to keep camera natively at a target color temp...Im guessing 5000k. Thats Dragon's sweet spot isnt it? What its designed for natively?

The scene itself maybe at a different Kelvin, but Im wondering if he balances that out in-camera with some CTB or other filtration.

This way all color channels would be as deep/saturated as possible...esp blue which is easiest to starve...and his RAW signal, in theory, would be as thick as possible (esp considering his other variables are all perfect - optimal exposure, max rez 6K anamorphic, and LOW compression on minimags).

Love how Chris sets himself up for success. Dying to know more about "actual" thinking behind CTB 1/2!

Most likely balancing to the 1000 practical in frame units which probably float around 4500kelvin and he wanted them to be 5600k. Instead of gelling or changing all those practicals he dropped a blue filter and then added 1/2 CTO to match his HMIs.

Cool - thanks Paul!!

Congratulations Chris! It looks like the video is nearing 70 million views. Are you able to share what the budget was for this music video? If not, no worries. I remember Joseph commenting on Twitter a while back about how his music video budgets have dropped quite a bit over time and I was curious on what you all had to work with on this one. It's been great to see his progression over time. His career actually started in the mid-90's with one of my favorite bands, Die Krupps. I was blessed to work with them on two videos. Here is one which I directed, shot, and edited called Risikofaktor.

Well done once again and I wish you continued success on your future works.

Arrived late to the party, aside the controversial discussion here, something I could figure out though. It is a lesson not only of cinematography whether we appreciate this or that whether not, but also of team solidarity. An example to every crew member the way the work of a colleague should be incorruptibly taken by the rest of the gang. Nice to see. Who wouldn't like to have him side by side (not only on set!) with us?

BTW, great camera work and a perfect promo particularly for this camera, kudos for your bet Jarred!

E :-)

I don't like, nor agree, with the choices Joseph made. I love the ones you made.
