Wow! Thats what I imagined, but was not sure, since if it is sold for that purpose, you would think it comes prepared to dismantle!

I went with Wooden Camera's back and the Switronix plate. Nothing stripped. Using Global Media Batteries I get % in the viewfinder.

I own 6 RED Volts and I would estimate it would take at least 12 RED VOLTs to survive an average shoot. (until the quad charger comes out)

What's stopping people from getting something like this v-mount and this 1b 4-pin lemo and making a battery belt style plate for under $100? Am I missing something in their design that makes them proprietary or something?

I'm not sure how you'd use that particular lemo connector. The Epic uses this: LEMO FGJ.1B.306.CWLD72Z ($62.25 from Mouser, part # 736-FGJ1B306CWLD72Z)
