  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Suitable wireless transmitter for Directors Monitor Cage+smHD702

So what are the Director's Cage options for the SmallHD 702?

I ordered that and I have the ActionProducts 150m Eclipse to pair it with. I asked SmallHD what Director's Cage would work with that setup and they told me they didn't know of any.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I like the Wooden Camera setup, but those handles look cheap and the 702 doesn't have a way to mount it on top. Anyway, any suggestions would be awesome. Also looking for a good hard case solution for the monitor and wireless transmitter. Asked InnoCinema and they said there were no plans to provide a hard case for sale for that unit.

Thx!

AC7 is a great option for directors' and focus pullers' wireless setups imo. Enough resolution and size to see what they need to see and it mounts perfectly onto WC directors monitor cage. 702 is more of a primary DP monitor that sits on a camera, at least that's how I see it.

Here are some pics of the Small HD 702 in the Ikan cage\handles. I have the Teradek receiver mounted on top. Using lock washers and spacers is very important to keeping this rig solid, so I have tons of 1/4-20 bolts, washers, spacers, nuts, etc. in my kit.

The Teradek powers off the accessory DC Pole outlet on the Swit version of the Sony L batteries. I also have this neck strap that's made for DSLR's and has a 1/4-20 bolt on it that goes in the bottom, or you could screw a baby pin into the bottom to mount it on a c-stand.

Thanks for posting those photos Graham. I'm looking at making a similar set-up and it's very helpful to see how you have it rigged.
